TECHNICIAN (THEATRE AND ENTERTAINMENT ARTS)
FULL-TIME
The Technician is expected to provide technical support for a wide range of sound, lighting and stage
technology equipment and the day-to-day teaching activities and facilities for Wanchai and Pokfulam
campuses. Duties include setups for teaching activities and events, supporting the operation of
sound, lighting and stage technology laboratories, inventory checking and general maintenance of
equipment, monitoring students on the operation of equipment and facilities, providing simple IT
services to students as necessary, and other related duties as assigned.
Applicants should have:
(a) At least 5 subjects at Grade E/Level 2 or above in the HKCEE/HKDSEE, including English Language
(Syllabus B) and Chinese Language;
(b) At least a diploma/higher diploma in electronic engineering or related discipline awarded by a
technical institute, or a Vocational Certificate awarded by the School of Theatre & Entertainment
Arts, HKAPA;
(c) At least 2 years of theatrical technical experience, or the equivalent;
(d) Good knowledge of PC and Mac hardware and software; and
(e) An understanding of theatre lighting, sound and stage technology would be an advantage.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be made on a two-year contract, with possibility of renewal, subject to mutual
agreement. A gratuity payment equal up to 10% of basic salary earned during the contract period
will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and
dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
