Loraine Robinson 281-641-7914 Training Rules and Enrollment Standards Humble ISD Police Department Law Enforcement Training Division Class Attendance: No absences will be permitted unless excused by the training coordinator, or her designee, and then only if provisions for makeup exist. Tardiness will not be tolerated and will be subject to make up. Classes are subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control. If a student needs to cancel, we would ask that the student notify the training coordinator at least three days prior to class. Dress: Agency uniforms or appropriate civilian attire is required always. No t-shirts, Sleeveless shirts, shorts, or overalls will be permitted. Appropriate footwear will be worn at all times. Photographic/Recording Equipment: Unless prior arrangements are made with the training coordinator, no photographic or recording equipment will be used by students. Smoking: Smoking is prohibited on all school district property. Enrollment Standards Prior to enrollment in any Humble ISD Police Department training program which provides instruction in defensive tactics, arrest procedures, firearms, or use of a motor vehicle for law enforcement purposes, the person must have on file: Written documentation that the person is currently licensed by the commission or documentation that the person is not: Currently charged with any criminal offense for which conviction would bar licensing: Has never been on court-ordered community supervision or probation for any criminal offense above the grade of a class B misdemeanor within the last ten years from the date of the court order: Has never been convicted of an offense above the grade of class B misdemeanor of a class B misdemeanor within the last ten years: Has never been convicted of any family violence offense: Is not prohibited by state or federal law from operating a motor vehicle: Is not prohibited by state or federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition: And is a United State citizen. Basic Telecomunicator Officer Course #1013 Crisis Communication Course #2120 11/03-11/12/2014 (Class is limited to 30) Location: Humble ISD Police Department Training Room The Basic Telecomunicator Officer Licensing courses are conducted by the University of Houston, Downtown, Criminal justice Training Center at the satellite location - Humble ISD Police Department Training Facility, 1703 Wilson Road, Building E, Humble, Texas 77396. This 64 hours training course is designed to provide the student with preparatory training for the Telecomunicator Profession. The Criminal Justice Training Center is dedicated to a blend of practical application and educational quality and has established a reputation of academic excellence. In order to be eligible to enter the Basic Telecommunicator Officer Course you must comply with all the requirements outlined by TCOLE. Additional information, requirements and forms are attached. Basic Instructor Course #1014 01/22-01/27/15 (Class is limited to 15) Location: Humble ISD Police Department Training Room 8:00 – 5:00, 40 hrs. TCOLE Credits This course introduces the student to the teaching-learning process, phases of the teachinglearning process, factors affecting learning, preparing a lesson plan, and methods of instruction. The students will be taught how to develop and use instructional media to enhance their presentations. In addition, the fundamental techniques of developing testing and evaluation procedures will be presented. Each trainee must demonstrate the basic knowledge and skills required to effectively instruct a lesson during two teaching exercises.Prerequisites to qualify for Certification: substantial experience in teaching or in the special field or subject area to be taught, to include: two years’ experience as a peace officer, telecommunicator, or jailer; or a bachelor’s degree and two years of teaching experience; or a graduate degree.
