2015-2016 Winter Youth Basketball League – FAQs
1. How much is the league?
a. Pre School Division: $135.00/ per player
b. Grades 1st – 8th: $125.00/ per player
2. What does the cost include?
a. The cost includes:
 Reversible Jersey Top
 8 Season Games
 Hotshots T-Shirt
 Hotshots Bag
 Post Season Tournament
 Certified Officials
3. What color are the uniforms?
a. Blue & White
4. What if I already have a uniform from last season?
a. You will still need a new uniform, as they will be printed differently. If the wrong jersey is worn, it will cause
his/her team a technical foul.
5. How and when does my child receive their uniform?
a. Your child will receive his uniform at his first practice or first game.
6. When does the season run?
a. The season will last from December 5th – February 21st.
7. Where are the games played?
a. All games will be played at Hotshots Athletics. 805 Waterway Pl, Longwood, FL 32750.
8. When is the first game?
a. The games will be played on the following dates:
 December 5
 December 12
 December 19
 January 9
 January 23
 January 30
 February 6
 February 13
9. What time will the games be on Saturdays?
a. It depends on how many teams we form in the draft. But the younger divisions will play the earliest (9am).
10 When and what is the Player Placement Workout?
a. The Player Workout will take place on every Tuesday or Thursday at Hotshots Athletics starting October 5th.
The Player Workout is your child’s chance to show us and the volunteer coaches what they can bring to a
team. It is like a mini tryout, however, every player makes a team.
i. 1-2: 6:30pm
ii. 3-4: 6:30pm
iii. 5-6: 7:30pm
iv. 7-8: 7:30pm
11 What if my child cannot make the Player Workout?
a. It is HIGHLY recommended that EVERY (Grades 1st – 8th) player do their best to be at the player workout,
however, if an emergency occurs your child will still be arbitrarily placed on a team. If you had made any
requests to be placed on a certain team, they will not be honored if you miss a player workout.
b. PRE SCHOOL DIVISIONS PLAYERS DO NOT NEED TO ATTENED A PLAYER PLACEMENT WORKOUT.
12 Who will the coaches be?
a. The coaches are volunteers. It could be a parent, grandparent, sibling or family friend.
b. ALL COACHES MUST BE BACKGROUND CHECKED BEFORE COACHING.
13 When and where will practices be held?
a. Teams will practice at least once a week depending on your coach. Practices can be held in a few different
locations. We will have some space, on a first come first serve basis, for teams to rent for an additional fee.
Hotshots will also provide the coaches with a list/map of outdoor courts in the surrounding area.

The only teams that will be guaranteed an INDOOR practice at Hotshots Athletics is PRESCHOOL Division &
1st – 2nd Grade Division
c.
PRE SCHOOL PRACTICES WILL BE WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY @ 6:30 PM at Hotshots Athletics.
14 How much will it cost to rent space to practice at Hotshots?
a. The fee will be per practice:
i. $25 for a half court
ii. $50 for a full court
15 Why do we have to pay for practice time?
a. We have grown tremendously in the last year and we need the space to train private clients and hold group
trainings.
16 Who goes to playoffs and when will they be held?
a. Every team goes to the playoffs.
i. They will be held on February 15 – February 20.
17 How do I register?
a. You may register online at hsahoops.com or On-Site at our facility.
