We are soliciting papers for the Workshop on Immigration, Health and WellBeing. The workshop is part of the “Immigration and NHS” project funded by
the John Fell Fund. We invite submissions in any area of empirical health
economics, economics of immigration and well-being. Preference will be given
to papers focusing on the UK. The workshop’s focus is broad, covering
empirical economic research on these topics. The workshop will last one day,
with a small number of hour-long research presentations. The workshop also
aims to foster new connections among scholars with common interests in these
areas.
Keynote lectures will be given by Christian Dustmann (University College of
London) and Marty Gaynor (Carnegie Mellon University). A final debate with
Brian Bell (University of Oxford) and Martin Ruhs (University of Oxford),
moderated by Martha Gill (The Economist) will conclude the workshop.
There are no fees. Participants are responsible for their travel and
accommodation expenses. If you are interested in presenting a paper at the
meeting, please send a draft of your paper to oxfordmig2016@gmail.com by
January 10, 2016. Decisions will be made by 30 January 2016. The detailed
programme will be announced by 10 February 2016.
