following brief school announcements:

Today’s bell schedule is 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 4, and 5.

Don’t forget we are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 – October 15th. We join in
with the entire country in saluting Hispanic Americans contribution to the building of this great country –
The United States of America.

This week breakfast menu is as follow: today’s breakfast is Egg Wrap with Egg and Cheese, and Friday –
the favorite Cinnamon Bun.

Stallions, remind your parents that TODAY –is a half day. School will be dismissed at 12:10. Further
instructions will be given by Principal Wilson at the end of these announcements.

By special request, we are asked to share this announcement each morning this week. This is a very
important message from the Desk of Ms. Monroe – Sligo’s Student Service Learning Coordinator: All
SSL (Student Service Learning) verification forms for activities completed this summer are due to Ms.
Monroe in room 113 by September 26. Please remember to write in blue or black ink in complete
sentences in paragraph format.

You asked and we answered! Media Center is announcing a new book club! There will be two groups,
graphic novel readers and chapter book readers. You are welcome to be in both groups. Please stop by
the Media Center today or Friday to sign up and get a pass for Monday’s interest meeting during BEST.
Even if you’re not sure, come anyway, signing up doesn’t mean you have to be in the club. See you
there!

MCPS and yes, Sligo Middle school celebrates cultural diversity. Tomorrow - Thursday of this week is a
holiday. We will observe Rosh Hashanah.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Lady Stallion Girls Softball team for their first WIN yesterday against Key
Middle. They had an impressive win of 14-1. Ms. Sullivan would like to thank all the Fans and Parents
for coming out to cheer us on to VICTORY. Our next home game will be next Wednesday October 1st
against SSI (Silver Spring International). Again congratulate all the players for a wonderful game.

“Congratulations to the Cross Country team who “ran” away with a win yesterday against Key Middle
School. Both the girls and boys won their meets. Fantastic job!”

Happy Birthday salutes of the Week are extended to: 9.24-Aniya Sebens, 9.25-John Moynihn, Ashley
Carranza, Alexis Carranza and Zhi Yong Wu, 9.26-Kimberly Garcia, 9.27- Richard Vasquez-Hernanadez,
Leslie Puma and Lamine Traore, and last but not least, 9.29-Marcelo Lovo.

Wednesday, October 1, we will announce our loving and kind staff birthday salutes for the month of
October. Stay tune to that salute as we celebrate them that teach and lead us.

