Century Fall Cheerleading Thank you for your interest in being a part of the 2015-2016 Century High School cheerleading squads. The knights cheerleading squads have been the ambassadors in school spirit and team motivation. I am very excited to be your new varsity cheerleading coach and confident that we will have a fun 2015 fall season. Tryouts: Tryouts will begin Wednesday, August 12th. Preparation for tryouts: Workout and stretch for a minimum of 30 minutes a day. Stretches should include straddle stretches, left and right leg splits, arms, wrist, ankles, and bridges. Run for at least 20 minutes. Tumbling: Tumbling is a huge part of cheerleading. I highly encourage you to take tumbling classes over the summer to work on having at least a back hand spring for tryouts. What to have for tryouts: Black shorts with spandex, plain T-shirt with no writing with shirt tucked in, hair up with a cheer bow, socks, tennis shoes/cheer shoes, no jewelry (or tape fresh piercings), nails trimmed with no polish, appropriate make up. For your safety, no gum chewing and bring plenty of water. Paperwork & Forms: All cheerleaders must have their physical forms signed by their doctor and parent before trying out. No exceptions!
