Project Director needed for SDTT Project Integrated Research and Action for Development (IRADe), New Delhi requires the services for the post of Name of the Post- Project Director Number- One IRADe is a reputed thinktank working on multi disciplinary and multi stake holder issues seeking applications from potential candidates to manage and contribute to Sir Dorabji Tata Trust(SDTT) funded project on Analysis of Factors Affecting Productivity of Northern Flood Plains of Eastern Uttar Pradesh with a View to Synergize SDTT Investment in the Region, and to lead all its programme activities. The project focuses management in the flood plains of the region and other opportunities livelihood ranging from soil management, irrigation practices, use of improved seed varieties, farming practices, livestock and fodder management, etc to improve socio-economic development of marginalized population in the selected districts of rural North Eastern Uttar Pradesh. The project aims identify technologies and opportunities to improve the adaptive capacity of small and marginal farmers in the flood prone area of Eastern Uttar Pradeshi. It requires preparing district development plans. The project is part of the SDTT Program activity . The Job DescriptionOverall project management,a s a Project director to undertake natural resources management and adaptation, transfer of technologies with partner institutes. Work closely with field level workers, govt officials, stakeholders and IRADe staff and liasing with other NGOs to address socio-economic and cultural barriers to develop uptake strategies. Develop and implement annual workplan and budget and programme activities Monitor overall implementation of activities with project, analysis, policy making. Prepare and finalize regular reports to SDTT through proper channel. Prepare regular financial reports with Finance office at IRADe Organize workshop/meetings etc. as and when needed, steering committee, multidisplinary department. Job involves stay and extensive field work in collaboration with NGOs in Eastern UP Eligibilty Criteria: PhD degree in Agricultural Economics, natural resource management, related discipline with at least 15-20 years’ experience as agricultural economist, social sciences, rural development, natural resources management, climate and related research areas, livelihood analysis. Knowledge about multidispimnary department, stakeholdher linkages to plan in district level as well as national level. Demonstrated ability of conducting integrated agricultural and adaptation research for development on the livelihood base analysis. Skills in statistical and modelling/GIS skills, knowledge of computer applications and software for both project and data management, and analysis. Innovative, energetic individual with demonstrated contributions to the field of agriculture and committed to seeing measurable impacts at farm to district level. Excellent knowledge of English and Hindi both spoken and written. Experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders and interest to work in interdisciplinary team. Willingness to travel to the field sites.
