Joy Carter: Vice principle:
Ladies and Gentlemen, good morning a very warm welcome to all of you to the University of
Winchester. I’m here to talk to you about the University in general and then after that you
have the opportunity to explore different programmes and have a look at the facilities in
more detail.
So we have lots of wonderful history but at the same time, as you will see as you look round,
lots of modern buildings and we are a university for the 21st century. And we’ve won an
award, we are in the top 10 universities nationwide for the quality of our accommodation, as
judged by the students.

Student Ambassador interview
I’m Stephen; I’m a third year drama student here and now a student ambassador. Three
years ago I was actually shown around Winchester University on the tour guides, everyone
was very light a bubbly..I got a good vibe from the place, you know, which really stood
compared to other Universities.
Psychology Department
Lecturer in conversation with prospective mature student.
If you really feel strongly that education is where you are going and as a mature student you
may well have already done a lot of thinking about this, then I would suggest actually yes it
probably is worth specialising in psychology with child development.
Learning Cafe
Prospective International student taking the tour
When you are an international student and you don’t really know the UK and everything, it’s
good to know that you are in a quite small University where teachers and students might be
willing to support you through your studies. That is, I think, the most positive point of this
university.
Out on tour
Parents of prospective student, taking the tour.
It feels safe, comfortable. It’s got a good feel about it, the whole place
