Sapulpa High School Bulletin for Monday, September 30, 2013 COLLEGE AND CAREER AWARENESS DAY October 1st has been declared Sapulpa’s College and Career Awareness Day. Sophomores will be taking the PLAN test and juniors will be taking a FREE national ACT test. Juniors, we encourage you to prepare for this amazing opportunity, as not all schools are funded to provide this test at no cost. Seniors, you will be participating in a college and career readiness workshop and then be treated to your Senior picnic. JUNIORS if you need a calculator for the act on October 1st you MUST check out one with a math teacher ahead of time. You will not be able to get one on the day of the test. SPIRIT WEEK This week is Spirit Week: Today is Twinkie Day; Tuesday - Tourist Day Wednesday - PJ Day; Thursday - Biker Day; Friday - Prep Day FUN BUNCH MEETING There will be a Fun Bunch meeting on Monday in the HS Gym during lunch. PSAT Students will be signing up in the main office for the PSAT before school, at lunch and after school. This test is for Sophomores and Juniors only! The test date is Wednesday October 16th (there is no school that day) at 8:30 AM in the high school commons. It is approximately a 3 hour test. The cost is $17. There are fee waivers for Juniors only who receive free or reduced lunch. If you are unsure of how to check whether students meet this qualification you can tell them to check with their counselor and we can let you know that. Once they pay, they will need to be given the study guide (these will be located in the main office). Let me know if any other questions or concerns arise. Thank you! HOMECOMING PARADE If you or your organization plans on being in the Homecoming Parade, please submit all information to Raelyn McDonald, in the Band Hall, by October 2nd at 4:00 pm. The parade will be Thursday, October 3rd at 6:30 pm. SOPHOMORE OF THE YEAR Sophomore of the Year Applications are available in your counselor’s office. Winner will receive a $600 college scholarship. Deadline is November 4th. HESSTON COLLEGE REP A representative from Hesston College in Hesston, Kansas will be here on Wednesday, October 2nd from 8:00-10:00. If you are interested in meeting with them, sign up with Mrs. Oakley in the Records office, Room 706. STUCO STUCO members Monday, September 30th at lunch will be our next meeting. Pizza and water will be provided. You can still pay to attend District Convention at Broken Arrow cost is $15.00. MAN PING MEETING There will be a Man Ping meeting Wednesday and Thursday next week, during lunch in the HS Gym. HOMECOMING PARADE AND COMMUNITY PEP ASSEMBLY There will be a Community Pep Assembly at 7:30 in the Football Stadium on October 3rd, immediately following the Homecoming Parade which starts at 6:30 downtown Sapulpa. Please come and join in the festivities and show your school spirit. FCCLA All member meeting: Tuesday October 1st. We will also be taking pictures for the yearbook. Both meetings will be in Mrs. Linders Room. Bring your own lunch please. HOMECOMING CORONATION Homecoming Coronation will start promptly at 7:00 pm, Friday, October 4th. ACT PREP ZAPS ACT prep is October 15th in the high school auditorium. Students who take this prep course typically raise their ACT score by 1 to 4 points so sign up today at www.zaps.com. Cost is $25. HOMECOMING T-SHIRTS STUCO will be selling Homecoming T-shirts at the HS Snack Bar for $15.00 on Thursday, Friday and at the Game while supplies last. STUCO WRISTBANDS STUCO will be selling Chieftain wristbands for $2.00 at lunch starting Wednesday and Thursday at the HS Snack Bar before school or at lunch and Friday morning October 4th. Students who have a STUCO Chieftain wristband will be released 10minutes early for lunch on Homecoming Friday, October 4th.
