Australia Awards – Pakistan: Short Course Awards 2015 Recipient Profile 1: Business Incubation Managers in Higher Education Institutions Award category This category targets professionals and faculty currently employed by public and private sector higher education institutions who are managing the Business/Technology Incubation Centres, Offices of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation or Centres for Entrepreneurship. The Business Incubation Managers in higher education institutions will be actively involved in the management and advocacy of such centres. Applicants falling under this category must be engaged in facilitating the incubatees to set up a successful business. The applicant’s work should be aimed at promoting and strengthening the culture of entrepreneurship within the higher education institutions. Applicants must undertake a short course in: Business Incubation Management. Applicants must meet program eligibility requirements available at http://www.australiaawardspakistan.org/short-courseawards and • be professionals and faculty members currently employed by higher education institutions in public and private sectors; • have proven experience of managing Business/Technology Incubation Centres, Offices of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation or Centres for Entrepreneurship; • have up to one year of relevant work experience with their current organisation or an organisation of equal relevance to the priority field of Business Incubation Management. Preference may be given to applicants with greater periods of experience; • be well positioned to apply and transfer the knowledge and experience gained through course participation on their return to Pakistan; • meet any minimum eligibility criteria stated as course prerequisites by the Australian tertiary institution providing the course (including English proficiency); and • be Pakistani citizens. Profile specific eligibility criteria This category targets professionals and faculty who are employed in higher education institutions in public and private sector and who are managing Business/Technology Incubation Centres, Offices of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation or Centres for Entrepreneurship. Applicants must be well positioned to apply the knowledge and experience gained through course participation on their return to Pakistan. Specifically, their negotiated “Return to Work” program will involve the implementation of observations and learnings obtained during the short course in Australia. Upon the completion of their course, awardees identified with a potential to provide input into policy related to improved services in the priority field, will preferably return to their key positions in the higher education institutions from where they will be able to contribute towards reforms.
