English 3AP Grammar Twiz – What to Expect
You will be responsible for…
1. Distinguishing between phrases and clauses.
2. Identifying examples of these grammatical elements (appositive phrase, participial
phrase, adverb clause, and adjective clause) in a sentence.
3. Determining whether a phrase/clause is essential or nonessential and knowing
how to properly punctuate.
4. Identifying and revising dangling and misplaced modifiers.
5. Identifying and revising pronoun/antecedent agreement errors (specifically
singular vs. plural).
6. Writing original sentences with these grammatical elements. (I will provide each
class period a different topic, so don’t even bother memorizing examples.)
