Distinguished Alumni Dinner
The Alumni Association will honor three Daingerfield High School graduates at the 6th Annual
Distinguished Alumni Dinner on Saturday, September 26, 2015, 6:00 pm, at the
Daingerfield High School Auditorium. Tickets may be purchased at Texas Heritage Bank,
Northeast Texas Credit Union, Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD administration building or by mail
to be picked up at the dinner from Martha Bonds, 4114 Lakeshore Drive, Lone Star, TX 75638.
The dinner is the major fund raiser for the Daingerfield Alumni Association and will also include
a silent auction and/or other fund raiser.
2015 Distinguished Alumni
Joe Skipper is from the DHS class of 1951. He is retired from law enforcement and a
former Morris County sheriff.
EG McMillan III graduated from DHS in 1957. He is an attorney at law.
T. Randall Lee graduated with the DHS of 1981. He is a Cullen Distinguished Professor at
the University of Houston.
Father Anthony William Pondant, DHS class of 1955, will be honored posthumously. Tony
wrote the Daingerfield High School song.
Daingerfield Alumni Association/Daingerfield-Lone Star Education Foundation
The Daingerfield Alumni Association was formed in 2007 to support the Daingerfield-Lone Star Education
Foundation. The Foundation and Alumni Association have awarded grants to the faculty of DaingerfieldLone Star ISD totaling $83,000. The Association also strives to keep the alumni informed of the activities
of the Association, news of alumni accomplishments and information from the school district through
email (daingerfieldalumni@gmail.com), a Facebook page (Daingerfield Alumni Association), and periodic

Membership dues for the Association are $10.00 per year. You may join or renew your membership by
sending dues and the following information – Name, including maiden, mailing address, phone, e-mail,
and year graduated from Daingerfield High School, JJ Rhoads High School, or Cason High School to Martha
Bonds at the address for dinner tickets. Friends or family of alumni and employees (former and current)
of Daingerfield, Rhoads, or Cason Schools are also encouraged to join the Association.
All School Reunion
The Association sponsors the All School Reunion during Daingerfield Steel Country Fall Festival each
October. The All School Reunion will be Saturday, October 10, 2015, from 1 to 4 at the Morris County
Courthouse Annex. This is a great opportunity to get together with classmates and join the Alumni
Association.
Annual Spelling Bee
The Association helps the Education Foundation with its annual Spelling Bee. Be sure to get a class threemember team formed for the next competition in January. Call Dwyatt Bell at 903-645-2251 or Kay

Scholarships
The Association also gives a deserving senior a $500 scholarship each spring. Recipients in the past are:
2015 is Bailey Young; 2014 is Ashley Wallace; 2013 is Josh Terry; 2012 is Cody Wayne McEntire; 2011 is
Brandi Hegler; and 2010 is Dillon Staples.
