SCF Collegiate School
State College of Florida Collegiate School’s mission is to guide and mentor student achievement by
equipping them to attain a high school diploma and an Associate in Arts Degree concurrently upon
graduation. Beginning in 6th grade, SCFCS students progress in a rigorous academic environment,
permeated by technology. The program utilizes demanding and innovative initiatives to establish a
system that encourages independent learning, preparing students for success in a full-time college
schedule beginning their junior year.
All students, grades sixth through tenth, are accepted without criteria; however, for the 11th grade,
students must have a cumulative, unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 and pass the Postsecondary
Education Readiness Test (PERT), SAT or ACT exam. Juniors entering the Accelerated College program
will replace the last two years of their high school academic career with college courses, ultimately
earning both a high school diploma and Associate in Arts degree. State College of Florida Collegiate
School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation
and School Improvement.

Accelerated College Program
The Accelerated College Program is comprised of 11th and 12th grade students who will graduate simultaneously with a high school diploma and an
Associate in Arts degree. A generous partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University offers SCFCS graduates a two-year scholarship for tuition and
fees to complete their bachelor’s degree. This will be offered to our first ten graduating classes, beginning with our first graduated class in 2014.
Curriculum and Graduation Requirements
The academic program for grades six through ten is organized on a 60-minute, 6-hour daily bell schedule. Six credits per year is the maximum
course load. Differentiated instruction and a rigorous curriculum prepare students to be college-ready by 11th grade and sometimes as early as 9th
or 10th grade. Qualified 9th or 10th grade students are allowed to be dual enrolled in one college course per semester.

SCFCS Rank
All SCFCS graduates have completed two years of college with 60 or more credits by the end of their senior year. Because all students are held to
the highest academic standard, SCFCS does not rank students. All junior and senior students are fully dual enrolled in college coursework.
Grade Point Average (GPA) Calculation
The unweighted GPA is based on a 4 point grading scale computed using the above quality points. Beginning with grade nine, all subjects, whether
passed or failed, are included in the computation. A minimum of 24 high school credits and a 2.0 unweighted GPA is required for graduation. Sixty
or more college credits are earned when the student completes the requirements for an Associate in Arts degree at the end of 12th grade.
Dual/Concurrent Enrollment classes are weighted by one point. Grades are recorded on a student’s transcript and GPA is computed in January
and May of each academic school year.
