Scholarship of Learning and Teaching
Support Scheme (SoLTSS)
The purpose of the SoLTSS is to encourage high quality scholarship, research and publication in the broad
field of teaching and learning in the higher education and VET sector. One of the ways in which the Centre of
Learning Innovation Professional Practice (CLIPP) works toward this objective is to provide funding for
Federation University staff to attend conferences and contribute to endeavours and objectives from these
conference experiences.
This document provides information for staff who would like to request funding from CLIPP to attend a
conference within the learning and teaching domain. This application needs to carefully consider and address
the criteria below. Submission details can be located at the end of the application. The maximum
application length in total (including this page) is 6 pages.
The evaluation and decision making process will be led by the Director, CLIPP (Associate Professor Nina
Fotinatos). The decision making process will be supported by a criterion referenced approached as outlined in
the criteria statements below. The decision making process will comprise of a minimum 4 person panel
including the DVC Learning and Quality (Professor Marcia Devlin) and a Associate Dean of Learning and
Teaching. The exact amount of funding available varies depending on the round (ideally 2-3 rounds will
become available per year). The total funding available per round is approximately $10,000.
