Piers-Harris Children’s Self-Concept Scale-Second Edition
The Piers-Harris Children’s Self-Concept Scale-Second Edition is a self-report questionnaire that includes
statements that express how people may feel about themselves. There are no right or wrong answers. The
Piers-Harris II includes a Total Score, which is the number of items endorsed in the direction of positive selfconcept. Higher scores indicate a favorable self-concept (high degree of self-esteem or self-regard),
whereas lower scores are associated with lower self-concept. The Total Score is derived from six scales.
