Purpose

LISD TV is Lenawee County’s local educational access channel, broadcasting from the Center for Educational Materials and Technology (CEMaT) within the LISD Milton C. Porter Education Center.

As “Your Partner in Education for a Changing Tomorrow.” we provide educational broadcast programming to Lenawee County. LISD TV is broadcast on channel 22 for both D&P Communications and Comcast in Adrian, Madison, Tecumseh, Blissfield, Britton- Deerfield, Hudson and Morenci schools.

All material broadcast on the LISD TV must be educational or informational.

LISD TV is a powerful resource available to Lenawee County’s residence. We at LISD have the obligation to proper manage, provide content and utilize the broadcasting. The content includes preannouncement and post video or documentation of events and educational material deemed appropriate according to the guidelines. Final Thoughts

Occasionally, a situation occurs where there must be some latitude given within the guidelines to achieve optimal communication.

LISD TV Request, Submission, Production and Approval Process

New LISD content will be submitted from one of four sources. Each source has its own process.

A.

LISD Event Video Capture Requests: Requests for Sonja Sprague, LISD TV Media Technician to schedule coops and interns to videotape or photograph LISD events will be requested by Ann

Hinsdale-Knisel, Community Relations Coordinator . Sonja will review and storyboard the request prior to capture. Once event has been captured, Sonja will review the content and schedule coop and interns to edit. Simultaneously coop and interns will create a post video for immediate broadcast and a pre-video to store for the announcing of next year’s event. Sonja will approve video for production purposes. Ann will approve for marketing purposes. With approval from both Ann and Sonja the video will be broadcast. Announcements of the event being broadcast will be posted on social media sites.

B.

LISD TECH Center Video/Audio Production Student Submissions: LISD TECH Center VAP videos will submit video pre and post on DVD to LISD TECH Center Principal, Ryan Rowe.

Ryan will sign Submissions form and send both to LISD Media Technician, Sonja Sprague. Sonja will approve video for production purposes. Ann will approve for marketing purposes. With approval from both Ann and Sonja the video will be broadcast. Announcements of the video being broadcast will be posted on social media sites.

C.

LISD, Local School Districts, Non-Profit and Community Educational Video Submissions:

Educational and non-profit videos will submit pre and post videos on DVD to Local superintendant or marketing manager. The Submissions form and video will both be sent to LISD

Media Technician, Sonja Sprague. Sonja will approve video for production purposes. Ann will approve for marketing purposes. With approval from both Ann and Sonja the video will be broadcast. Announcements of the video being broadcast will be posted on social media sites.

D.

LISD, Local School Districts, Non-Profit and Community Educational Announcement

Submissions: Educational and non-profit pre and post announcements will be submitted via emailing information and images to LISD Media Technician, Sonja Sprague lisdtv@lisd.us.

Video format for announcements will be during morning announcements, interview style or photo slideshow with voice over.

Once editing is done, submission form is signed; Sonja will approve video for production purposes. Ann will approve for marketing purposes. With approval from both Ann and Sonja the video will be broadcast. Announcements of the video being broadcast will be posted on social media sites.

LISD TV Guidelines

When submitting new content for broadcast, please keep in mind the follow LISD TV guidelines.

Programming may include:

Current CEMaT video collection

Locally produced content that includes, but is not limited to:

Events that highlight Lenawee County students, i.e., educational events, sports, and Student of the Week

 LISD educational sponsored events, i.e., debate, quiz bowl, scholarship reception, student political convention, and educational presentations

 School announcements, i.e., kindergarten roundup and upcoming professional development

 Instructional community events, educational support locations

 LISD TV sponsor acknowledgements.

 Student success

May not include:

Religious content

Politically bias content

Advertisements

Obscenity

Indecency

Permissions

LISD TV is only able to schedule content for which broadcast rights have been obtained. Parental permission forms for children under 18 years of age appearing in broadcasting content must be on file with LISD TV for all locally produced content. Programming from local districts must have the authorization of the local district superintendent. Please contact Sonja Sprague prior to submission for formatting needs.

When content is submitted for broadcast it is assumed that the person submitting the content has reviewed the content for accuracy, grammatical errors and that all permissions have been granted. Please review and follow the steps below.

Video Submission Checklist

Familiarize yourself with LISD TV procedure and its parts; guidelines, submission requests, approval and timeline.

Legal: By law we must receive both a submission and permission form for all content broadcast on LISD TV. All forms will be kept on file for 3 years for any content that is has been broadcasted on LISD TV.

Video content must be submitted on DVD. DVDs must be labeled to match submissions and permission forms; date, title and contact. Note: The production process for creating new video content (Focus on…) will possibly take 4 weeks. The submission process for broadcasting new content may take 3 weeks.
