Radiology For the Tennessee Registered Dental Assistant Course Information Course Description: This course is designed to teach the Tennessee Registered Dental Assistant Dental Radiology. The course includes radiation health and safety and its application to dentistry. This is a hands-on curriculum. Registered dental assistants will learn to place, expose, process, and mount intraoral x-ray films. This course is approved by the Tennessee Board of Dentistry and follows the rules and regulations of the Tennessee Dental Practice Act. Location: Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Knoxville 1100 Liberty Street Knoxville, TN 37919 Dental Assisting Department Conference Room B (865) 766-4370 Course Length: 16 hours in length Date and Time: April 22 - 23, 2016 8:00 am – 5:00 pm No admittance after course instruction has begun. Lunch is scheduled from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. It is strongly recommended that you bring your lunch. Tuition: $224.00 Tuition does not include application fee ($15) to the Tennessee Board of Dentistry. Student Supplies: Students MUST bring: Sterilized XCP instrument including anterior and posterior film holder. 1 Box of #2 intraoral x-ray film 1 full mouth film mount Proof of Tennessee registration as a Dental Assistant.
