Call to order
The Gwaii Trust Arts Committee Chairman called the meeting to order at 5:15 pm.

Amendment of agenda:
No amendments to the agenda.

Adoption of agenda:
The Gwaii Trust Arts Committee reviewed the agenda after discussion the arts committee made
a motion to approve the agenda.

Adoption of Minutes:
November 9 2013 Minutes
The Gwaii Trust Arts Committee reviewed the November 9 2013 minutes after discussion the
Arts Committee made a motion to approve the minutes with the following amendments and to
include hard copies be sent via email prior to each meeting:
1) Correct spelling item #6; Samuels
2) Remove committee comments and include roundtable discussions item #7.

“IN CAMERA” Arts Program Allocation
(This section of the meeting is carried out “In Camera” as per Gwaii Trust guidelines)
The Gwaii Trust Arts Committee received 5 applications under the art allocation date March 3
2014, March 20th received 1 workshop application & 24th received 1 program application after
discussion and review the arts committee made a motion to approve 1 program application and
1 workshop application some conditions may apply:

The GT Arts Committee made the following recommendation to the GT Board of Directors for
final approval; School District5 50 Early Learning – Music Tour Project in the amount of
$1,461.00. The remaining balance $38,539.00 will be carried to the next allocation date in
October TBA at the planning meeting.

Project Update
Debbie Crosby gave a brief project update on past and present projects.

Arts Committee Round Table Discussion
At the end of each art’s meeting, the committee participates in a five minute each round table
discussion.
Topics discussed:
o Planning session
o More clarity on programming
o Revising policy
o Revise application process, go out to communities, studios

Next Meeting
The next arts committee meeting is scheduled for April 26th 2014 – Strategic Planning Session –
Haida House, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Sandra Price; will develop a draft agenda for discussions at
the strategic planning meeting.

Trust Board of Directors for final approval;
The arts committee approved 1 application; School District 50 Early Learning – Music Tour
Project in the amount of $1,461.00.
The remaining balance $38,539.00 will be forwarded to the next allocation date, October TBA
at the planning meeting, April 26th 2014.
