The Western Pennsylvania Society for Adlerian Psychology Presents The Dr. Kurt Adler Patient Intake Interview This DVD presentation provides the extraordinary opportunity to observe Dr. Kurt Adler conducting an intake interview. A free workshop open to the general public, psychologists, counselors, social workers and anyone interested in learning more about the Adlerian concepts of therapy provided in a series of real time lessons presented as only the genius and humanity of Kurt Adler can. Saturday, May 16, 2015 10 AM to 12 PM Bethel Park Library - 5100 West Library Road, Bethel Park, 15102 This workshop will include a review of the basic principles of Adlerian Psychology, the four phases/processes of Adlerian therapy and the viewing of a DVD of Dr. Kurt Adler conducting an initial therapy session with a 53 yr old woman with a history of depression and anxiety. Dr. Adler provides a series of real time lessons in how to communicate with a new client/patient, how to control the process, how to reach into the client/patient’s mind and then offer constructive ideas and principles that take hold even in a first time meeting. About the Society: The Western Pennsylvania Society for Adlerian Psychology promotes the educational theories and practical techniques of Dr. Alfred Adler, a leading theorist in the field of mental health and the founder of child guidance centers. His theory of Individual Psychology promotes a holistic approach for each individual and is based on a model of growth. His teachings are applicable to parent/child relationships and counseling for individuals and families. Continuing Education Credits: Two (2) hours of Continuing Education will be awarded.
