WINSTAR FARM
Highlighted by star-studded performances and some of the world’s top chefs, the international
culinary event will kick-off the highly-anticipated 2015 Breeders’ Cup World Championships
LEXINGTON, KY. (September 14, 2015) –The Breeders’ Cup today announced details for
Taste of the World presented by WinStar Farm, one of the most exclusive, highly-anticipated
annual entertainment events surrounding the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Taking place
on the evening of Thursday, October 29, the 5th Annual Taste of the World will kick-off the richest
two days in sports and Triple Crown champion American Pharoah’s likely pursuit of the first-ever
Grand Slam title at the 2015 Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland on Oct. 30-31. Offering the best of the
best in horseracing and luxury hospitality, Breeders’ Cup has elevated the entertainment
experience to an entirely new level with renowned chef and horseman Bobby Flay as this year’s
event host and a special live performance by Superstar Tim McGraw. The star-studded evening
with world-class entertainment and dining combined with the growing excitement for a possible
attempt by Triple Crown winner American Pharoah to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic and complete
racing’s Grand Slam has solidified this year’s Taste of the World as one of the most highlyanticipated social events for the Thoroughbred world.
Taste of the World is a VIP, invite-only event that features an impressive roster of chefs – including
renowned French Pastry Chef François Payard, Matthew Lambert of The Musket Room,
television personality Marcus Samuelsson, chef-owner of Red Rooster Harlem, and representing
Good Food Ireland is Executive Chef Ed Cooney of Dublin's luxurious Merrion Hotel and Chef
Martin Shanahan, owner of Fishy Fishy Restaurant in Kinsale in Cork. The participating chefs,
many of whom will be flown in by a private jet by Breeders’ Cup partner Sentient Jet, will prepare
dishes inspired by their country’s cuisine for over 1500 of the most influential breeders and owners
– all of whom are in town to participate in the 2015 Breeders’ Cup World Championships – at the
lavish tented affair hosted by the breathtaking WinStar Farm. This will mark the first time that
Taste of the World will take place at a Thoroughbred breeding farm, celebrating the true heritage
of the sport’s most elite Thoroughbred champions. The culinary experience will also feature an
E*TRADE lounge and pairings by 14 Hands Winery, Maker’s Mark®, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and
Stella Artois.
“The key lifestyle and entertainment elements of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships
continue to evolve as we focus more acutely on providing our key participants with not only the
best in horseracing but the best in the overall hospitality and entertainment.” says Craig Fravel,
President and CEO of the Breeders’ Cup. “With a spectacular setting at WinStar Farm, line-up of
culinary masterminds and entertainment from Grammy Award winning performer Tim McGraw,
this year’s Taste of the World showcases our efforts to enhance the experience for our participants
and celebrate what could be the most exciting World Championships to date.”
On Monday, November 2, immediately following the Breeders’ Cup World Championships,
Keeneland will host the 2015 November Breeding Stock Sale, the largest Thoroughbred auction
of its kind, further expanding the field of influential horsemen participating in this year’s event.
With amazing live musical performances, the world’s most sought-after chefs and horsemen from
all over the globe in attendance to witness history in the making at the 2015 Breeders’ Cup World
Championships, Taste of the World at WinStar Farm will transform into a vibrant, multicultural hub
for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
