Green waste currently operating east to west i.e. new material deposited east and slowly turned heading west. In New Year direction to be reversed, to allow use of existing building as WTS for food waste when needed. Inert recycling operation for restoration material operational and tidy, stockpiles accumulating ready for restoration in summer Wharf, empty. Landfilling now taking place in phases N & M Phases ABC restored to grassland, needs weed control. Phases E & F restoration completed and planted with willows. Up take upward of the access track growing well. Planting below track seemed vary spare and/or not taken as well. The surface of this area is littered with large rocks, bricks etc. These need to be cleared to improve growth chances and prevent damage to cutting machinery when the area is cut for bio fuel. Phases D & I deposited with calcareous material. J awaiting and K awaiting restoration, but landfilling completed. Haul roads very wet and muddy, some mud being carried out on to public highway. Keith explained the long period of wet weather this year has made maintaining haul roads very difficult; the water is just not soaking away. Some sections of the concreted haul road are breaking up. Unofficial laybys on the concrete haul road (particularly by weighbridge), should be blocked off, as these are very muddy and being closer to the exit there is less opportunity for mud to clear from wheels before the public highway. Original Bio-fuel area , dominated by weeds On arriving on site lorry partly parked on pavement on Pitsea Hall Lane by café, details passed to Veolia Actions before next visit: Manage weeds on restored areas Stone pick all restored areas to remove material greater than 150mm on the surface Block off unofficial laybys on haul road Note: The next visit will take place in Jan –Mar 2013. The actions noted in this report are required in order to ensure adequate progress is made and to avoid potential enforcement action against a breach of planning control.
