LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DESCRIPTION PAGE
The scholarships below are generously endowed by community organizations along with application guidelines.
Complete the attached application, check the scholarship for which you are applying, and return to the College and
Career Center by February 19. Attachments are limited to one page unless otherwise specified: missing information or
failure to follow these requirements will result in disqualification of the application. If you have questions, please
contact Mr. Longenbaugh in the College and Career Center.
If you prefer, a downloadable version of this application is also available online at wnhs.org → student services →
scholarships. This version allows you to complete the application online, print it, and then turn in.
Exchange Club of Western DuPage
2.75 on a 4.0 GPA scale, plan to attend a DuPage County post-secondary school,
community service, and financial need.
John Sluis Memorial Scholarship
Planning to major in engineering at a 2 or 4 year school. 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale
required. Financial need will also be considered in the application review process.
Kiwanis Club of Central DuPage
Attend COD. Criteria: need, activities, work experience, and community service.
Rotary Club of Central DuPage
Criteria: academics, civic responsibility, extracurricular activities, and financial need.
Wheaton Kiwanis Club Career Education
Completed an occupational program or sequence of courses in industrial arts,
business or home economics. Plan to attend technical or commercial school, or
community college. Preference given to pursuit of non-baccalaureate degree
Wheaton Chapter of Infant Welfare Society
of Chicago
Must live in Wheaton. Required essay on "Why Volunteerism is Important."
Essay should be no more than one page, double-spaced, 12 point font.
Wheaton Community H.S. Alumni Club
Four years of attendance at WNHS/WWSHS. Must complete Special Needs section
of application in order to show financial need.
Wheaton Junior Woman’s Club
Criteria: academics, extracurricular activities, and community service.
Women’s Department Club of Wheaton
Wheaton resident or attending District 200 High School.
LOCAL PTA SCHOLARSHIPS*
Edison Middle School PTA Scholarship
Four $500 scholarships will be awarded. Must have attended 2-3 years at
Edison Middle School and demonstrate achievement in academics, community
service, leadership, and a variety of extra-curricular activities.
Franklin Middle School PTA Scholarship
Four $500 scholarships will be awarded. Must have attended 2-3 years at
Franklin Middle School and demonstrate achievement in academics,
community service, leadership, and a variety of extra-curricular activities.
Hubble Middle School PTA Scholarship
Four $500 scholarships will be awarded. Must have attended 2-3 years at
Hubble Middle School and demonstrate achievement in academics,
community service, leadership, and a variety of extra-curricular activities.
MonroeMiddle School PTA Scholarship
Four scholarships of $500 will be awarded. Must have attended 2-3 years at
Monroe Middle School and demonstrate achievement in academics,
community service, leadership, and a variety of extra-curricular activities.
Wheaton Warrenville PTA Council Scholarship
Six scholarships of $500 will be awarded to WNHS students who have attended
schools within the District for 8+ years. Must demonstrate excellence in
academics, leadership, community service or work experience, a variety of
extra-curricular activities, and the written essay on the scholarship application.
Winners of the Wheaton Warrenville PTA Council scholarships are ineligible for
a PTA middle school scholarships or a WNHS Booster Club scholarship.
*PTA Scholarships are not need-based
