Milestones of his journey have included serving as board chair for the National Wildlife Federation, representative at the United Nations 1999 Sustainable Development Conference, taking part in the 1998 Kyoto Treaty negotiations, and appearing in the Academy award-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth.
