Key Homework for this half term (at least 3 to be completed this half term) Week 1-3: Medieval Methods of Control Task 1. Complete a Domesday Book for your own household. Example Sheets are available from your teacher if you want one. 2. Write at least 1 PEE paragraph explaining why the medieval church was so important to the lives of medieval people. 3. Research King John and make a fact file. Include parts on John’s good and bad points. Increase the Challenge 1. Also research the real Domesday entries for Dudley and Halesowen. What do they tell you about Dudley at the time? 2. Also research the murder of Thomas Becket. Write about why this murder was so important at the time. 3. Add a PEE paragraph explaining your view of King John. Was he a good or bad King? Create your own Magna Carta that lays down 5 new laws to improve the learning of students at Holly Hall. For each law explain why this would help children learn. Increase the Challenge 1. Explain why this issue has also been interpreted in different ways. 3. ‘Magna Carta was one of the most important documents in English history.’ Research Magna Carta and write a paragraph explaining how much you agree or disagree with this statement.
