That leaders of nations may seek justice and peace from the Word of God, we pray

For young people, to be prepared to receive Christ and hear his call, we pray to the
Lord....
That all who have died may be freed from sin and stand securely before the Son of
Man, we pray to the Lord...
Celebrant: Father, we wait in joyful hope for the coming of Christ our Savior.
As you answer our prayers, make us holy, that we may greet him with eager hearts,
who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
Second Sunday of Advent, Cycle C
December 6, 2015
Celebrant: Having heard God's word, we now present our needs before Him with
confidence.
Deacon/Lector: That the Church throughout the world may faithfully and joyfully
prepare the way of the Lord, we pray to the Lord...
That governments may be inspired by the words of the prophets to promote justice,
mercy, and peace, we pray to the Lord...
That the Church may bring about effective repentance from the sin of abortion, and
the gift healing to those wounded by it, we pray to the Lord…
That the sick and the lonely may enjoy the consolation of the presence and love of
the Christian community, we pray to the Lord...
That those who have died may be filled with the joy of seeing Jesus face to face, we
pray to the Lord...
Celebrant: Father, as you hear and answer our prayers, give us grace to long for the
coming of Your Son, and to prepare a world ready for Him, who is Lord forever and
ever. Amen.

For integrity among local, state, federal officials and public servants, we pray to the

That young people have the wisdom, courage and a sincere interest to abide by the
will of God, we pray to the Lord ...
That those sick and dying may be comforted by the love of God and the Christian
community, we pray to the Lord...
Celebrant: Father, you call your people to rejoice at the coming of Your Son. Make
our joy complete as you grant these petitions. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Celebrant: Like the Virgin Mary, let us pray now, trusting that the Lord's promises
to us will be fulfilled.
Deacon/Lector: That the Church of Jesus Christ may always be joyful in
proclaiming His coming, we pray to the Lord...
That Christ, will guide world leaders and their peoples in the ways of peace and
justice, we pray to the Lord...
That as Mary helped Elizabeth, so we may help those who are pregnant to care for
their unborn children, we pray to the Lord……
For vocations to the priesthood, religious life, marriage life, we pray to the Lord...
That those who have died may be welcomed into the life that never ends, we pray to
the Lord...
Celebrant: Father, your Son Jesus Christ offered Himself for our sake. Grant us
salvation in Him, who is the answer to all our prayers, and who is Lord forever and
ever. Amen.
Christmas
December 25, 2015
Celebrant: In Christmas joy and hope, let us present all our needs to God with
confidence.
Deacon/Lector: For the Holy Church of God, that as she celebrates the birth of
Christ, she may grow in holiness, we pray to the Lord…
For peace, that all nations may resolve their conflicts by giving themselves over the
Christ, the Prince of Peace, we pray to the Lord…
For those who are alone or abandoned, for the oppressed and the hungry, the
homeless, and the unborn, we pray to the Lord…
For all the sick of our families and our parish, that they may join their sufferings to
the sufferings of Christ, we pray to the Lord…
For all those who have died, that by the power of Christ's birth on earth, they may
be born in heaven, we pray to the Lord…
Celebrant: Father, the birth of your Son renews our hope. As you answer our
prayers, Give us grace always to bear witness to him before the world, for he is Lord
forever and ever. Amen.
Feast of the Holy Family

Celebrant: God humbled himself to be born of a human family, and sanctified
family life forever. For the needs of our families and our world, we now pray.
Deacon/Lector: That the many ministries of the Church may strengthen family life,
we pray to the Lord...
That governments respect the institution of marriage, made by God as the union
between one man and one woman, we pray to the Lord...
That more families promote the vocation to marriage, religious life and to the
priesthood, we pray to the Lord ...
That families burdened by divorce, abuse, or alienation may seek and find the help
of the Holy Family, we pray to the Lord...
That our family members who have died may be welcomed into eternal life, we pray
to the Lord...
Celebrant: Father, we thank you for the gift of life and family. Answer all our
prayers, and bring all people into your family of grace. We ask this through Christ
our Lord. Amen.
Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
January 1, 2016
Celebrant: As we begin a New Year, let us bring our prayers and needs to our
heavenly Father with confidence.
Deacon/Lector: That the Church may effectively proclaim to the world the divinity
of Christ and the special role of our blessed Mother, we pray to the Lord…
That Church leaders may be strengthened by God’s grace as they face the challenges
of the New Year, we pray to the Lord…
That the leaders of nations will seek equality and peace for all, we pray to the Lord…
That the prayers of the Mother of God may strengthen all mothers to follow her
example of welcoming new life despite fear, doubt, and uncertainty, we pray to the
Lord...
That all young people of the world take Mary as a model to do the will of the father,
we pray to the Lord...
That all who have died in faith may dwell in Christ’s abundant love for eternity, we
pray to the Lord…
Celebrant: Father, as we begin this New Year, open our hearts and minds to the
many blessings you offer, and give us joy in following your Son Jesus Christ, who is
Lord forever and ever. Amen.
Solemnity of the Epiphany

Celebrant: The whole world is called to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord. Grateful for
our faith, we now bring the Lord our petitions.
Deacon/Lector: That the Church may tirelessly reveal the glory of Christ to all
peoples who do not yet know him, we pray to the Lord...
That the Manifestation of the glory of Christ will enable all nations to recognize the
sanctity of each and every human life, we pray to the Lord…
That God people may more deeply discover the mystery of the Eucharist, and
worship the Lord as did the wise men of old, we pray to the Lord...
That those who have died may share eternal glory, we pray to the Lord...
That more men and women hear the call to the priesthood and religious life, we
pray to the Lord ...
Celebrant: Father, we trust in your loving care. Show us your glory, deepen our

Celebrant: Because of our baptism, we are able to offer these petitions to God as our

him with patience and trust, we pray to the Lord...
That those who have died may share the glory of eternal life, we pray to the Lord...
Celebrant: Father, we thank you for making us your children. Answer the prayers we
have offered today with confidence and trust. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Celebrant: With a willingness to do whatever He tells us, we turn to the Lord with
our needs.

with gifts of faith, wisdom, and prophecy, we pray to the Lord...
That governments may respect, God's plan for marriage as the union of one man
and one woman, we pray to the Lord...
That through the prayers of Mary, the mother of Jesus, we may promote a new
appreciation for the dignity of women, of marriage, and of motherhood, we pray to

That those who are affected by inclement weather may be protected, we pray to the
Lord...
That the sick may have the grace to accept the Lord's will, we pray to the Lord...
That all who have died may share in the banquet of eternal life, we pray to the
Lord...
Celebrant: Father, as we present our needs to you, fill us with the many gifts of your
Spirit, that we may serve you and your people with strength and joy. We ask this
through Christ our Lord. Amen.

January 24, 2016
Celebrant: The Lord Jesus came to proclaim liberty to the captives and salvation to
all. This gives us confidence to entrust to him all our needs.
Deacon/Lector: For Church leaders as they continue to proclaim the message Jesus
preached, we pray to the Lord...
That all governments may acknowledge that every human law must correspond to
the laws of God, we pray to the Lord...
That as Christ proclaims liberty to the poor and the captive, we may work to
eliminate war, starvation, capital punishment, and abortion, we pray to the Lord…
That more members may serve the one body through the priesthood and religious
life, we pray to the Lord...
That the sick may be comforted and the deceased may share in eternal life, we pray
to the Lord...
Celebrant: Father, We welcome the Gospel of Your Son. As you answer our prayers,
May the words of that Gospel resound in our hearts And shape our lives. We ask
this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Celebrant: God knew us, and our needs, before we were born. We therefore pray
with great confidence.
Deacon/Lector: That those appointed in the Church to proclaim God's Word may
find open hearts and minds, we pray to the Lord...
That government leaders may have the gifts of faith, hope, and love, to acknowledge
God, we pray to the Lord...
That our youth may learn the ways of God and become faithful disciples of Christ,
we pray to the Lord...
That the sick may grow in faith and in health, we pray to the Lord...
That those who have died may be welcomed into the joys of eternal life, we pray to
the Lord...
Celebrant: Father, as you answer our prayers, Give us the faith and hope we need in
this life, And above all let us grow in your love which lasts forever. We ask this
through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Celebrant: Christ, crucified and Risen, intercedes for us with the Father. Therefore
we can pray with great confidence...
Deacon/Lector: That all who preach God's Word may express, with conviction and
clarity, that Christ has died, is Risen, and will return, we pray to the Lord...
That God may strengthen many to answer His call to serve as priests, deacons, and
religious brothers and sisters, we pray to the Lord...
That all who seek public office may acknowledge the law of God as higher than any
human law or court, we pray to the Lord...
That all who are sick may find healing and the comfort of their family, friends, we
pray to the Lord...
That all who have died may be purified of sin and rejoice in eternal life, we pray to
the Lord...
Celebrant: Father, despite our unworthiness, you call us to follow you. As you hear
our prayers, make us faithful in responding to your call. We ask this through Christ
our Lord. Amen.
