YOU MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE FOLLOWING:
Recruitment sessions – if you are shortlisted, you will be invited to an interview session, where you
will be asked some questions and complete a practice phone call. These will take place between
Tuesday 20 October and Thursday 22 October.
Training sessions – training will take place on Sunday 1 November, 10am-4pm and Monday 2
November 6pm-9pm. There will also be a session of refresher training on Friday 27 November from
5pm-7pm. You’ll be paid for these sessions if you complete the minimum shift requirement. We cannot
consider your application unless you can attend all sessions so please do not apply if you are unable to
attend. At training, we’ll ask you to list preferred shifts for the duration of the 7 week campaign.
Calling – the first day of calling will be Tuesday 3 November and the campaign will run for 7 weeks
(until Thursday 17 December). If we offer you work we would ideally like you to work for a minimum of
2 shifts in a week throughout the campaign and up to 4 shifts a week. If you commit to two shifts you
will need to be able to work both weekdays and weekends (see shift times below). We will ask you in
your application to indicate your shift preference. This helps us to plan the campaign, so please be as
accurate as you can at this stage.
For your information the shifts are:
Weekdays (1 shift per day): Mondays to Thursdays from 5.50pm to 9.30pm
Weekends (2 shifts per day): 2.50pm to 6pm and 6.20pm to 9.30pm
A note on pay: UCL’s policy is to pay casual staff a month in arrears. In practice, this means that you
will work a month (eg. November), have your hours submitted at the end of that month (eg. November)
and be paid at the end of the next month (eg. December). Holiday hours are accumulated over the
course of the campaign and paid at the same time as wages for the final month of campaign. Training
hours are paid at the end of campaign, upon completion of minimum shifts. Wages are paid into your
account on the last working day of each month.
