Dance Classes
Swimming
Years 4 and 5 have completed their
swimming lessons.
We were delighted with the number
of people who recently attended our
Dance Classes. Dale Robinson was
the tutor. We hope all who attended
enjoy putting their new moves into
practise over the festive period!
Football
Pupils in P4-7 enjoyed a football
coaching session with Mr Alan Nixon
on Monday 10th November.
Clubs
This term pupils have enjoyed
participating in gymnastics, sport,
art, cookery and knitting clubs. We
thank Mrs Follis for her continuing
support during clubs. We also thank
Mr
Gareth
McGuckin,
from
Fermanagh District Council. Gareth
took the sports club along with Miss
Hadden.
Visitors to School
A team of nurses, visited school on
4th November in order for the
children to receive their flu
vaccinations.
Representatives from LIDL visitied
P2/3 on Friday 7th November to
congratulate them on winning £1000
of LIDL vouchers last year in a
competition.
Young Enterprise
Miss Hadden’s class had a visit from
Sandra
Magee
from
Young
Enterprise. After her visit the pupils
then set up their own business and
called themselves Bridge Christmas
Crackers.
They worked hard to made various
hand made Christmas goods. The
pupils launched their business in
ASDA on Monday 8th December.
They were delighted to make £380.
Work Experience
We are delighted to be hosting past
pupils Lauren Wheeler and Sophie
Neill, as they complete their work
experience in Mrs Irvine and Miss
Hurst’s classrooms.
School Council
Well done to the School Council, who
organised a successful Wear PJ to
School Day on Friday 14th November.
They raised £317.75 for the BBC
Children in Need Appeal.
Anti-Bullying Week
All classes participated in AntiBullying activities during November.
Africian Children’s Choir
On Friday 5th December, a group of
children from P5-7 enjoyed singing
with the Africian Children’s Choir in
Christ Church Hall, Maguiresbridge.
The pupils sang a selection of pieces
with Lisbellaw Primary School and a
selection of pieces with the Africian
children. This event was organised
by Rev Beacom from Maguiresbridge
Presbyterian Church. We thank him
for his kind invitation enabling us to
sing with the African children.
Roots of Empathy
P6/7 are continuing to enjoy
participating in the Roots of Empathy
Programme.
Christmas
Dinner
The cooks prepared a
delicious Christmas Dinner on Friday
12th December. The children and
staff all wore Christmas jumpers on
this day.
We take this opportunity to thank
the cooks for all their preparation
and indeed for all their work
throughout the year.
Visit from Santa
After
our
Christmas
Dinner, we enjoyed a
special visit from Santa.
He distributed sweets to
the children and gifts to the Cooks,
Secretary, Caretaker and Classroom
Assistants.
Pantomime
Pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed
travelling to the Market Place
Theatre, Armagh on 9th December to
see their wonderful Pantomime –
Scrooge.
Christmas Cards
During November, the children enjoyed
designing their own Christmas Cards.
This venture proved to be a
tremendous success, raising £329 in
commission for school funds.
Get Well Soon
We extend best wishes to Jonah
Adams, who had an operation in
Belfast
Royal
Hospital
during
November. It is great to hear that
Jonah is making a good recovery and is
getting stronger each day. We wish
Jonah a Happy Christmas and take this
opportunity to let him know we miss
him very much and look forward to
seeing him back at school very soon.
We also take this opportunity to
extend best wishes to Mrs Morrsion.
Christmas Performance
We are sure you will agree that the
Carol Service held in Chirst Church,
Maguiresbridge was wonderful. It was
lovely to see SmallFry playgroup and
residents from Colorado Nursing Home
at the Tuesday morning performance.
We were delighted to have such a
great turn out of parents, grandparents
and friends at our main performance
on both the Tuesday and Wednesday
evenings.
We take this opportunity to thank the
Parents’ Support Group for serving tea
and
mince
pies
after
both
performances.
Well done to all who won the brilliant
raffle prizes. We thank the local
businesses and teachers who donated
the prizes. £422.10 was raised for
school funds. Thank you for your
generosity.
Open Morning
We held a successful open morning on
Wednesday 10th December. We were
delighted with the number of parents
and pre-school pupils who attended.
Parents and children enjoyed being
entertained with Christmas Songs,
mince pies and cream, as well as
having a tour to see the school ‘at
work.’
School Holidays
School closes for Christmas holidays on
Friday 19th December at 12.30pm and reopens on Tuesday 6th January 2015. We
take this opportunity to wish everyone a
Happy Christmas and a peaceful and
prosperous New Year.
