Open the Book website resources Here genuine keffiyahs are used as they drape easily. However, other soft scarves work as well. Using a teatowel (especially a new thick one) is harder to keep on – and a wellmade stretchy headband can help a lot. Its also great for adjusting for children sized heads! Instructions Cut 3 legs from tights. Cut off toes. Knot the legs together and then plait (not too loosely) to the end. Holding the ends carefully, undo the first knot and knot the ends of the plait together firmly. A reef knot works well. Create a small tassel by allowing the ends of hang free unplaited – this can be as long as your stockings allow. Note the effect of different shades of stockings!
