“I have been working at Cotgrave Health
Centre since the middle of August I have
moved from Cardiff with my wife and our
two children. My wife is from Keyworth
originally. We have lived in Cardiff for many
years where I did my junior doctor training.
Over the last few years I have been a GP to
asylum seekers and refugees based at a
clinic in the centre of Cardiff. I am looking
forward to the challenges of a more
community based clinic in Cotgrave.”
Dr. Julia Fisher
“I undertook my medical training in London
and after qualifying worked in a few
different areas before choosing General
Practice as a speciality. I have recently
moved to the Nottingham area and am
working part time at Cotgrave and
Bingham surgeries. My two young children
take up most of the rest of my time but I
enjoy hiking and baking when I get the
chance!”
Adele Rice
“I have joined the team as the new
Operations Manager. I have been settling in
well, getting to know everyone and looking
forward to working with the team at
Cotgrave and our other surgeries.

Self-Management of Coughs &
Colds
Most coughs and colds are caused by viral
infections and usually clear up on their
own.COLD & RUNNY NOSES - There are no
medicines against these viruses and
antibiotics are NOT given as these are not
effective against viruses. The treatment for
colds is to treat the symptoms; you can do
this by taking plenty of drinks and if you
have a headache or are feverish take
Paracetamol or Ibuprofen. The pharmacy
can advise about decongestants and other
useful medication. COUGHS often occur
with colds and flu. Cough medicines may
help; take Paracetamol.
Seek medical attention if the cough
persists for longer than three weeks, or if
you are feeling particularly unwell with a
high fever or breathlessness or are
producing a lot of discolored phlegm or
blood
