CHRISTMAS
OPENING TIMES
Christmas Eve Thursday 24th December shut at 1pm
Christmas Day Friday 25th December – closed
Bank Holiday - Monday 28th December – closed
New Year’s Day – Friday 01st January – closed
If you require advice during the times that we are closed please phone our surgery
number and you shall be transfered to the 8-8 service or out of hours service
We are still open till 6pm to collect prescriptions, and book routine appointments
FLU SEASON
Flu vaccination appointments are still available to book.
Invite letters are NOT being sent out this year, if you are entitled to a
free flu vaccination please book an appointment.
The following groups of patient are able to receive the vaccination: Patients over 65 years of age
 Children with a date of birth on or after 1 September 2010 and on or
before 31 August 2013
 Chronic Respiratory Disease / Asthmatics on inhaled or systemic
steroids or previous hospital admission  Chronic Heart Disease
 Chronic Renal Disease
 Chronic Liver Disease
 Chronic Neurological Disease
 Diabetes
 Immunosuppression
 Those who are in receipt of a carer’s allowance, or those who are the
main carer of an elderly or disabled person
 All pregnant ladies
All children aged from 2 to 17 who are “at risk” from flu can have the
nasal spray flu vaccine

Pharmacy first
This is free for minor ailments and if you receive free prescriptions you will receive
the treatment for free. So for any sore throat, coughs, colds, constipation, rashes etc
they can treat you and if they feel it’s not appropriate for them they will advise you to
go to make an appointment to see either a Nurse practitioner or a doctor.
Letters / forms
If you need a letter or a form completing by a doctor please enquire with our
reception team first before making an appointment. As this can usually be done
without seeing your doctor
DNA
If you are unable to attend your appointment please let the surgery know so that
someone else can take this appointment
PAULA MELROSE
Paula shall be leaving York Bridge Surgery in February 2016, she shall
be very much missed by all the staff here and we wish her all the best
in the future.
She will however be carrying on her research role round the local
practices
YORK BRIDGE SURGERY
PRESCRIPTION ANSWER PHONE SERVICE
You can order your prescriptions by phoning 01524 423627 and leave a message on our
answering machine anytime day or night, but please still allow 48 hours for your
prescription to be processed.
If you leave your request over the weekend then your prescription will be ready on the
following Wednesday.
Please make sure that you leave your name, Date of Birth, telephone number and the
name of your medications when leaving your request.
The Surgery will be in touch with you if we have any problems with your request for
medications.
ONLINE SERVICES
You can now order your prescriptions on line anytime day or night, please allow 48 hours
to be processed.
You can also now book advanced appointments to see any of our doctors on line.
You can also view your medical records which includes your medications, test results,
allergies and immunisations
If you wish to register for the above services please ask at reception and they shall take
your e-mail address and register you.
NURSE LED CONTRACEPTION CLINIC
Our Nurse Practitioner, Alison Alcorn is now running an evening
Contraception Clinic on alternate Wednesday evenings from 6pm –
8pm, we hope this will help patients who are unable to take time off
work to attend appointments during the day. Please book these
appointments at reception or phone 831111.
