Quality Management – Property and Community Facilities Doc Number QMF-PCF-052 Council Grants & Facilities Availability FAIRFIELD CITY COUNCIL - COMMUNITY FACILITIES Fairfield City Council has a range of Community Facilities which support the quality of life in Fairfield City. The Fairfield City Plan 2012-2022 identifies the importance of access to community services that support the growth and development of our community as a major goal with the following key strategies: To provide community facilities and services that are accessible and affordable To increase the awareness and first time applicants of community grants programs To promote and recognise community service and volunteers To improve our community’s future through our diverse cultural knowledge and skills FACILITY AVAILABILITY Council on its website maintains a list of Community Properties for Hire/Licence with a live link to display “Facility Availability”. Any further enquiries about Council’s Community Facilities can be made by logging a Customer Request through Councils Customer Service Centre on 9725 0222. Council’s Community Facilities are heavily utilised. Some are available for casual hire or annual hire. The latter is based upon an application submission each year for allocation. Some properties are occupied under Licence Agreements that are renewed in line with the provision of reports by the Licensees demonstrating ongoing community benefit and the continued provision of the appropriate insurances and business compliance requirements. If Community Facilities become vacant an “Expression of Interest” process is undertaken. This process is governed by legislated requirements and includes advertisement to ensure equity of opportunity and equal access to information advising that application are open. “Expression of Interest” advertisements for Community Facilities appear for a period of 28 days in Council’s corporate page of the local newspaper. GRANTS AND FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES Council and other external bodies provide a variety of grant and funding opportunities throughout the year to support community achievement in a number of social, sporting, cultural and environmental initiatives. Council maintains information about funding opportunities including the Mayoral Donations Scheme on the website at www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/Council/GrantsandFundingOpportunities. Further information is available by contacting Council on 9725 0880. Fairfield City Council continues to provide and update information available on its website.
