FINANCIAL INFORMATION
Students who go on an ERASMUS exchange do not have to pay tuition fees at the host university and will receive a
grant from the British Council to help towards the costs of your exchange. This is calculated both on the location and
duration of the exchange. If you make any subsequent change to your plans, or if you return early from your
exchange, you will have to return all or part of the grant. If you stay abroad for less than three months, you will
need to repay the full grant. This applies even if you have to return early for medical reasons. If you decide not to go
abroad after having been nominated, you must inform the Erasmus Co-ordinator and your host institution as soon as
possible.
Please note – if you currently pay tuition fees to the University of Stirling, you will still have to pay this tuition
whilst you are on exchange as a student from the exchange partner university will take your place here at Stirling.
It is important that you check with your fee authority to verify whether they will continue to pay full fees for an
ERASMUS exchange period.
