Health walks The walks are FREE, suitable for all abilities and last between 30mins60mins. July 2013 Healthy Lifestyles is for individuals who may have a health condition or the potential to develop one. This can include; weight management, diabetes type II, asthma, high blood pressure, osteoporosis , stress and depression. There are also specialised classes available that cater for individuals with Cardiac and Respiratory conditions. The scheme is an intervention lasting for 12 weeks per person and is supervised by a qualified exercise professional. All of the GP Referral instructors are registered with the Register for Exercise Professionals REPS The class is for individuals who have had a cardiac episode or cardiac/heart related condition and costs £3 per session. The exercise class consists of a low intensity workout in a safe and friendly environment. It is intended to enable patients to recover as quickly as possible from their condition and to offer support and advice towards healthy living. Plus reducing the risks of further heart disease. Did you know that we run a series of short health walks across the Stroud District, aimed at improving peoples health? Walking is a great way to improve your health as its fun, inexpensive, and a relaxed way to meet people. Every walk is led buy a fully qualified WfH volunteer walk leader who ensures the walks are safe and at the right intensity. This scheme offers multi styles dance sessions aimed at helping people to be more active and have fun. No partner is required. Sessions costs £3 per go. This class is for individuals who have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and other associated respiratory conditions and costs £3 per session. The exercise class consists of a low intensity workout in a safe and friendly environment and is specifically designed to help individuals reduce the symptoms and to improve functional independence.
