Student Essays
Respond to both of the following essay questions. Please limit your response to a maximum of
250 words. Essays must be typed and double spaced, using size 11 or 12 standard font.
A. What attribute do you most admire about your character and what attribute do you least
admire about your character? Provide at least two anecdotes about yourself that best
illustrates your CHARACTER considering the question above. Note: Do not include
your name in the essay. Personal stories or characteristics are acceptable.
B. What do you see as the function of an organization such as the National Honor Society
(refer to the NHS Mission Statement below)? If selected to this group, how would you
contribute to the continued growth and success of the NHS? What service activities
would you like to see NHS pursue next year? Note: Do not include your name in the
essay. Personal stories or characteristics are acceptable.
