Granite Bay High Boosters Association Stipends Instructions Please review email and letter from the district regarding stipends The Association can not pay any “coaches” directly o No supplemental pay o No pay for other “exempt” services o Reimbursements may need to be OK’d by the district All paid/volunteer “coaches” must be cleared before stepping on the “field” o Volunteer or paid coach clearance form signed by GBHS Administrator turned into Christine Newton , RJUHSD o Completed application turned into Christine Newton o Christine gives volunteer/employee a packet to complete Volunteer Fingerprint/background clearance TB clearance First aid CPR CIF coaching certification Paid employee Fingerprint/background clearance TB clearance First aid CPR CIF coaching certification Employment Packet o State and fed tax forms o PERS exclusion o I-9 employment eligibility verification o Once Christine receives all completed documents, the “coach” is cleared GBHS sends district a list of returning coaches, Christine Newton verifies all documents are still current, notifies Tim Healy and Brian McNulty of any needed items Do not tell the district a coach is a volunteer and then attempt to submit a stipend request District has a salary schedule and a list of approved positions o Can not pay more than the scheduled amount without prior district approval Show unique or additional services Don’t try to “find” a way to avoid the district and pay through boosters 1 Rev. 7.1.11 To ensure timely payment to your “coach” o Submit disbursement request to the Association the 1st of the month Attach statement of purpose and funding plan, signed by Club Treasurer and Brian McNulty. Signatures must be originals Request a check to be made payable to RJUHSD Check amount must be for the amount of the stipend plus applicable employment taxes Member of State Teacher’s Retirement System – Add 3.55% (2011-2012 school year) All else (referred to as Classified Employee) – Add 9.75% (2011-2012 school year) o Association submits paperwork to district by the 25th Can not submit to district if any item is missing o District pays employee on the 10th as long as all paperwork was submitted on time Employment clearance paperwork Check and statement of purpose 2 Rev. 7.1.11
