5.4.0.6 Issued: Revised: October 29, 1999 October 5, 2010 SUBJECT: Director of Annual Fund/Grants/Alumni Relations (Exempt – Administrative, level 2) The Director of Annual Fund and Grants works under direction of the Vice President for College Advancement and manages/supervises other employees and/or assumes responsibility for planning, assigning and reviewing work of employees under supervision; regularly assists bona fide executive or administrative personnel; exercises discretion and independent judgment with authority to make important decisions. The Director of Annual Fund and Grants shall: develop written proposals to local, state and national foundations that would make gifts to the College; develop written presentations to corporations and businesses to solicit funds for the College; develop case statements that describe institutional priorities and future plans which can be used to market the College to potential funding sources; coordinate the evaluation of grants and completing all financial reports requested by funding sources; develop written presentations to individuals, civic organizations and churches that seek support for the College; develop written proposals for raising funds by mail; coordinate and direct Toombs/Montgomery County Annual Fund Drive for BPC; develop women’s auxiliary; and perform special assignments as directed by the Vice President for College Advancement. The Director of Alumni Relations works under direction of the Vice President for College Advancement and manages/supervises other employees and/or assumes responsibility for planning, assigning and reviewing work of employees under supervision; regularly assists bona fide executive or administrative personnel; exercises discretion and independent judgment with authority to make important decisions. The Director of Alumni Relations shall: develop and coordinate all alumni activities; develop an alumni relations plan that describes the services, events, activities and use of personnel and alumni volunteers; coordinate the planning and implementation of Alumni Day and Homecoming Day with the Alumni Society leadership; coordinate committees selecting award recipients (Friend of the Year, Alumni of the Year, Honorary Alumni, Merit Award and Hall of Fame); coordinate volunteers and their activities; organize and provide staff support for alumni chapters and clubs; develop and maintain a system of class agents; maintain a positive social and working relationship with alumni, donors and friends of the College; develop, coordinate and implement plans to ensure successful cultivation of potential major gift donors among alumni and others; cultivate a roster of key major gift prospects for college support; submit weekly and monthly prospect and donor visitation and solicitation reports to the Vice President for College Advancement; write articles concerning alumni projects and programs for publications; and perform special assignments as directed by the Vice President for College Advancement.
