An Academic society is set up to represent members in an academic course or department. The
society nominated has run successful social &academic events and activities over the past year
Who can be nominated?
Academic societies only
Best Society Event
A stand-alone event organised by a society that ran successfully since the last societies awards
Who can be nominated?
Any society
Most improved
The Society has improved in events, organisation & membership over the past academic year
compared to the previous academic year.
Who can be nominated?
Any society in operation for minimum 2 years
Best New Society
The society nominated has run successful events & activities over the past year
Who can be nominated?
Societies in their first year of receiving funding
Risam Úile
A society that reaches outside their core group to support other societies, sports clubs,
students union, arts, chaplaincy, academic or CIT events.
