Experience with early learning intervention. Experience with instructional coach model. At least 3 years’ successful classroom teaching experience. JOB GOAL: The expectations for the position of instructional coach are to work collaboratively with classroom teachers to model, implement and coach best practices in literacy and learning. Provide instruction and resources to support, supplement and extend excellent classroom literacy instruction. Develop a strategy to implement a literacy culture K-12 and provide differentiated professional development based on needs. The ideal candidate will have leadership and collaborative skills to develop and implement district-wide plan. Analyze data and assist in making school, classroom, and instructional decisions based on data. To assist staff with expert knowledge of literacy curriculum and best practices. Be knowledgeable with core, supplemental, intervention and advanced learner programs. Model effective literacy strategies in the classroom. Diagnoses, assesses, prescribes, and evaluates literacy needs of individual students and teachers. Carries out ongoing assessment of literacy needs; writes and modifies lesson plans as needed that align with common core and the districts adopted literacy curriculum. 7. Keeps administrators and district informed about the literacy programs and strategies in the district buildings. 8. Initiates referrals for student or teacher assistance as needed. Works with the building RTI team. 9. Coach teachers as they implement new literacy strategies through conferencing, observations, modeling, and the use of constructive feedback. 10. Provide school based staff development related to essential components of literacy instruction. 11. To identify fundamental elements at each grade level that will require student mastery. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary as per LTA negotiated agreement Contract will be a year to year basis and based upon availability of Title I or School Improvement funding.
