1. When are applications due?
Applications for the 2014-15 school year are now available on the district website. The
application deadline is August 8, 2014.
2. What are the requirements to be accepted?
There are 3 areas of requirements: grades, attendance and discipline.
o Academic- must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA (or equivalent)
o Attendance- maximum of 3 absences per quarter, unless excused by physician or for
the observation or celebration of a bona fide religious holiday.
o Discipline- no suspensions or expulsions at previous district or Northmont. Once
enrolled in Northmont, the student also must not be subject to Saturday schools.
3. Is transportation provided?
District bus transportation is available for tuition students who come to existing bus stops in the
appropriate catchment area when space is available.
4. Can I use an EdChoice Scholarship to pay tuition?
No. Northmont is not a participant in the EdChoice Scholarship Program.
5. How much is tuition?
Tuition rates are set by the Ohio Department of Education and are usually announced to districts
in August. For comparison, the 2013-14 rate was set for Northmont City Schools at $5,578.10
for the year.
6. Do I have to pay the full tuition amount in one payment?
Northmont accepts tuition payments in four quarterly installments. The first payment is due by
August 15 with following payments due by October 15, January 15 and March 15.
7. Does Northmont accept students through open-enrollment?
No. Northmont participates only in the tuition program and does not have open-enrollment.
8. What do I need for registration?
Registration forms are available on the Northmont district website. Required paperwork
includes the tuition enrollment application, signed tuition agreement, release of records and
official transcript, attendance record and school verification of discipline.
