Job Description
Post Title:
Autism Advisory Teacher
Location:
Various across Bedfordshire and Luton
Salary:
£23,622 – £26,957 per annum on a pro rata basis.
Actual salary £10,703 – £12,214 per annum
Hours:
20 hours per week, Term time only (inc some evenings and weekends) Negotiable

Job Purpose:
Autism Bedfordshire offer services to adults with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (A.S.C.) in various types of
programmes. These can be in the form of group work, training programmes and 1:1 support. The post holder will be
expected to take a primary role in the development and running of these programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
 To project lead on high quality services offered by Autism Bedfordshire’s Adult Services Team
 To run small groups and training courses for adults with autism, focused around their social, employment,
independence and leisure skills needs.
 To undertake specific 1:1 support work with adults as part of project work and helpline response.
 To research and develop new services for adults across the whole of Bedfordshire under the guidance of the Adult
Services Manager
 To support and supervise part time and volunteer staff involved in projects and services
 To report to the Adult Services Manager on the activities of adult services projects
 To create and maintain accurate records and reports of the projects undertaken
 To support the Adult Services Manager in reporting service activity to funders and other interested parties
 To promote Autism Bedfordshire’s Adult Services to potential service users who have their own personal budgets
 To assist in resolving issues highlighted by helpline calls e.g. benefits support, college applications.
 To be up to date in the understanding and implementation of Autism Bedfordshire’s policies and procedures
 To represent Autism Bedfordshire in communication with partner agencies and in attendance at various meetings.
