Main Objectives
1. Provide information, advice, advocacy and representation to victims of
racial harassment ensuring that casework adheres to TMG’s minimum
standards and the Legal Services Commission’s Quality Mark
2. Participate in and develop the Group’s Helpline
3. Participate in, make representations and advocate best practice in
supporting victims of racial harassment at strategic forums set up by
statutory agencies
4. Provide training on best practice to other statutory and voluntary agencies
working with victims of racial harassment
5. Retain and expand knowledge of legislation and procedures relevant to all
aspects of TMG’s work.
6. Work with the Director and Business Development Manager to submit
regular returns to funders within stipulated deadlines

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Project Delivery
1. Provide effective advice and assistance to victims of racial
harassment
2. Advocate on behalf of clients in case conferences and other forums.
3. Liaise with statutory agencies and key stakeholders to ensure
effective implementation of policies and practices which meet the
needs of victims.
4. Participate in the running of the 24 hour Emergency Service.
5. Work with the Director/Business Development Manager to submit
regular returns to funders within stipulated deadlines.
6. Ensure the appropriate delivery of project outputs and outcomes.
7. Ensure expenditure is within project budgets and in accordance with
TMG’s financial and budgetary systems.
8. Ensure the services provided accord with TMG organisational
standards and are in accordance with best practice.
9. Ensure a professional and trusting relationship is maintained with
clients at all times
Organisational Functions
1. In conjunction with the Director develop a proper workplan to ensure
proper delivery of work.
2. Adhere to work plan, meet all agreed outputs and outcomes and ensure
all deadlines are met
3. Participate and contribute to TMG organisational processes including
participating in the corporate wide business planning process
4. Make regular reports to the Director and Management Committee on
work outcomes and develop and maintain relations with key partners.
5. Represent TMG to a variety of external agencies and ensure effective
liaison regarding all aspects of project work with statutory and other
agencies
6. Attend Committee Meeting and present report on all aspects of the
project
7. Work with the Director to prepare reports, statistics and case studies as
necessary and present them to Committees as directed.

1. Maintain records to all aspects of project work and ensure all records are
kept up to date.

3. Ensure satisfactory administration of all aspects of the work.

Budgetary Control
1. Provide regular information to Director and TMG finance staff to maintain
cashbooks and other financial information

Southampton.

H. Additional Information
1. Candidates should have a commitment to TMG's policies and practices and
be prepared to undergo any training associated with it.
2. The post holder must have the ability to use computer packages and
demonstrate a good grasp of IT, ideally Microsoft Word and Excel.
3. The post requires a large amount of contact with people over the phone
and in the office. Good communication skills are essential.
4. Attendance at evening meetings will be required in accordance with the
needs of the project.
