Fall 2013 – Spring 2014 Application
If you are a proud Colonial, actively participate in GW traditions, enjoy meeting fellow students and
alumni, and share our belief in philanthropy, then apply to join the Colonial Ambassadors!
Please read through the entire application, fill out the following information, and provide
thoughtful responses to the short answer questions. The ambassador program is open to
undergraduate students who have completed at least two semesters at GW.
Colonial Ambassador Mission:
The Colonial Ambassadors are a select group of undergraduate students on campus that are
dedicated to serving GW alumni, students, and prospective students. The ambassadors endeavor
to support the Division of Development & Alumni Relations by promoting student engagement
with alumni and alumni related activities, preserving GW traditions, and encouraging a spirit of
philanthropy.
Colonial Ambassador Expectations & Responsibilities:
Ambassadors will serve for a one year commitment and will attend all General Body meetings
occurring once per month. Ambassadors will also attend training sessions each semester, and
participate in GW’s Alumni Weekend celebration, GWAA Board meetings, signature events held by
the Division of Development & Alumni Relations, and campus traditions, such as Midnight
Breakfast and George’s Birthday Bonfire.
Ambassadors should expect to commit 10 hours to ambassador related activities each month.
Ambassadors will serve on one of four committees that promote alumni relations’ related
activities, community building, communications, and school spirit.
Our ambassadors will demonstrate enthusiasm, professionalism, creativity, leadership, and loyalty
to the university. Ambassadors must be in good academic and judicial standing.
