2016 Emerging Greek Leadership Council
Application
“As members of the Emerging Greek Leadership Council, our purpose
is to provide a stimulating environment for new members of the Greek
community, and to project a positive image of the Greek community to all new members of Iowa State
University. We will work in conjunction with the Collegiate Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council,
Multicultural Greek Council, and the National Pan-Hellenic Council to build a strong foundation for future
Greek involvement by encouraging the development of leadership, citizenship, character, and camaraderie.
The Council will serve as a stepping stone for future involvement both throughout the Greek community and
Iowa State University campus.”

Thank you for applying for the 2016 Emerging Greek Leadership Council.
Please submit your completed application to the Office of Greek Affairs,
0355 Memorial Union, by 5 pm on Monday, November 2nd In addition, please
attach a copy of your resume to the application.
You will be contacted the evening of Thursday, November 5th if you have been selected
for an interview. Interviews for those applicants selected will take place on
Sunday, November 9th through Thursday, November 13th.
EGLC Membership Details

The council consists of approximately 20 new members from the Greek Community.

Potential positions include:

Treasurer

Public Relations

Sponsorship

Philanthropy

Watermelon Fest Co-Chair

Weekly time commitments: once a week council meeting and two office hours per week.

Attendance at all EGLC sponsored events is expected. They include the following:
o Meal Under the Campanile- spring philanthropy
o Watermelon Fest- welcome event first week of school
o Assists with Live Greek 365 – the new member seminar in early September
o All other duties as assigned

Attendance at the EGLC retreat in November
