BKLM cables arrangement
1. Cables from scintillator modules to crates on the top above yoke.
(1) Step 1: from modules to the cable frame on the barrel of yoke.

Fig. 1: From scintillator to the cable frame
It’s common and the length is:
1275+200+315+200+315+280=2850 mm.
Step 2: the frame at the sector of the modules.
As shown in Fig. 2, the distances are: CE = 404 mm, BE = 808 mm, AE = 1212 mm; DE = 787
mm, DF = 3190.
There are three outs of each sector, which are at point A, point B and point C in the Fig. 2.
The distances in the second column are CE, BE and AE, except in the Sector # 3, which is the
chimney sector. The chimney sector is based on Fig. 3.
Step 3: DE + n*DF, the 3rd column.
It’s similar to every Sector, except the #3. For different Sectors: #1,5, n = 1; #2,4, n = 0; #6,8,
n = 2; #7, n = 3.
Step 4: 4th column.
When the cables arrive the position of frame just under the crate, it will take about 615 +
1600 = 2215 mm. The height of a crate is 1700 mm.
Step 5: The frame on the surface on chimney Sector.
I am not sure the exact position of the crates above the chimney Sector, but they shoule be
at the positions like H and I in Fig. 3. Here I take GH = JI = 1024 mm.
The cables sent from VT to KEK should be enough. The only problem is: where are the positions of the
crates on the top (near chimney)?

2. Fiber cables from RPC crates to Ehut.
As shown in Fig. 8, measured with rope, from R3 to both A (HV) and B (DAQ crates) are 30
meters. Based on this,
we take below:
B-R1 = 30-6 = 24 m; B-R2 = 30-2 =28; B-R3 = 30; B-R4 = 30+5 = 35; B-R5 = 30+7 = 37; B-R6 = 30;
B-R7 = B-R8 = 24 m. Times 2 for both forward and backward, and times 2 again for one crate
need two fiber cables, we need 928 meters fiber cables totally.
This is for (a) BKLM optical fibers from Indiana concentrators (in each of the RPC readout

crates - 8 forward and 8 backward) to the EHut 1-Floor KLM COPPER
For (b) BKLM optical fibers from Indiana concentrators (in each of the RPC readout crates - 8
forward and 8 backward) to the EHut 1-Floor KLM TRIGGER
We should need the same as item #2, means 928 meters, if we need two fibers for one crate.
4. (c) EKLM optical fibers from Indiana concentrators (in each of the Hawaii readout crates - 4
forward and 4 backward) to the EHut 1-Floor KLM COPPER
Where are the crates? If there are all on the top near chimney, we should take all 30 meters for
them. So we need 30*(4+4)*2=480 meters.
5. (d) EKLM optical fibers from Indiana concentrators (in each of the Hawaii readout crates - 4
forward and 4 backward) to the EHut 1-Floor KLM TRIGGER
If they are on the doors, we need to take 38*(4+4)*2 = 608 meters.
If they are upon the barrel top, we need 30*(4+4)*2 = 480 meters.
6. (e) BKLM optical fibers from the Hawaii 9U readout crates (2 forward and 2 backward) to the
Indiana concentrators (8 forward and 8 backward)
If the Indiana concentrators are the R? In Fig. 8, we should take:
R1: at least 10 m, better to take 12 m.
R2: 6 m; R3: 6 m; R4: 12 m; R5: 15 m; R6: 19 m; R7: 19 m; R8: 19 m.
Totally, we need (12+6+6+12+15+19+19+19)*2= 216 meters.
Fig. 8: The 8*2 RPC crates around detector
7. (f) EKLM optical fibers from the Hawaii 9U readout crates (4 forward and 4 backward) to the
Indiana concentrators (in the same 9U crate) - should be very short fibers.
Should take 3 meters for each one. We need 3*(4+4)*2 = 48 meters.
8. (g) BKLM HV (power) coaxial cables from the EHut 2-Floor KLM CAEN power supplies to the
Hawaii readout crates (2 forward and 2 backward)
If one crate just need one HV cable, we need 30*(2+2)*2 = 240 meters.
9.
(h) EKLM HV (power) coaxial cables from the EHut 2-Floor KLM CAEN power supplies to the
Hawaii readout crates (4 forward and 4 backward)
Similarly, if one crate need only one HV cable, we need 38*(4+4)*2 = 608 meters.
In summary:
1.
2.
3.
4.
We have sent enough cables for scintillator modules from VT to KEK.
The fiber cables we need should be: 928+928+480+608+216+48 = 3208 meters.
We need eight 30 meters long HV cables for BKLM Hawaii readout crates.
We need sixteen 38 meters long HV cables for EKLM Hawaii readout crates.
