CONDITIONS
1. A competitor must be a person of amateur status as defined by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.
2. Each competitor will play 36 holes comprising 18 holes stroke play on 16th April 2016 and18 holes stroke play on
17th April 2016.
3. Players shall start at the times laid down by the committee (Rule 6-3 (a)). However, if the player arrives at her starting
point, ready to play, within five minutes after her starting time, in the absence of exceptional circumstances which have
prevented a player from starting on time, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole in stroke
play. Otherwise the penalty for breach of this rule is disqualification.
4. The organisers reserve the right to set and/or alter starting times and to vary the conditions of the Championship if
deemed necessary.
5. It will be obligatory for all competitors in the Championship to play with a ball, which is named, in the current R&A list of
Conforming Golf Balls. Penalty for breach of condition - Disqualification.
6. It is a condition of competition that the driver a player uses must have a clubhead, identified by model and loft, that is named
on the R&A List of Conforming Driver Heads. Penalty for breach of condition - Disqualification.
7. It is a condition of the competition that measuring devices will be allowed for distances only. The device must not be
used for any purposes that are prohibited by Rule 14-3. Penalty for breach of condition – two strokes and for a
subsequent breach – disqualification.
8. Only girls who are members of Mid-Wales County Golf Association can win the Mid-Wales County Championship.
9. All disputes must be referred to the Mid-Wales County Golf Association Championship Committee, whose decision shall be final.
10. Caddies, including fore-caddies, are NOT permitted in this Championship. Players are reminded that they must
NOT ask for, not be given advice from anyone on the course.
11. The Championship Committee requests that parents, relatives and spectators keep their distance from play at all
times.
ENTRIES
12. Entries shall be made only on special entry forms.
13. Entrants must conform in all respects to the Rules of Amateur Status and shall sign the declaration to that effect,
contained in the entry form.
14. Entrants must be under 18 years of age on 1st January 2016 and have an active handicap of 28 and under.
15. Competitors must enter through the Secretary of their Home club who is to sign the declaration in the entry form, that to
the best of his/her knowledge and belief, the entrant is eligible, and conforms in all respects to the Rules of Amateur
Status.
16. Entries will be limited to 30 competitors. In the event of applications exceeding this number, members of Mid-Wales
County Association shall have priority and, thereafter, entries from the highest handicap competitors shall be decided by
ballot, which shall take place immediately after the closing date for entries. For this purpose the exact handicap on the
date of entry shall be used.
All unsuccessful entrants will be informed without delay thereafter, but will be given the opportunity to compete if
scratching subsequently occurs. Entrance fees will be refunded to entrants balloted out, who do not compete.
