DIY Little Golden Books Journal
Materials:
 Little Golden Book
 Cardstock Paper
 Binding products
(Coil & binding machine or
Book rings & hole punch)
Instructions:
1. Select your Little Golden Book to be up cycled.
2. Start by removing the front cover from the story pages using a
razor blade or Xacto knife. Continue cutting the book until
the binding is removed and the pages are loose. Be sure to
keep the book pages in order as you are removing the pages
from the binding.
3. Trim the additional cardstock paper you are adding to your
journal the same size as your pages from the Little Golden
Book.
4. Punch all of the pages with your binding machine, making sure
all the pages are aligned correctly.
5. Select your coil and complete the journal with binding it
together.

DIY Accordion notebook
Materials:








12 x 12 Cardstock Paper
3 x 3 Cardboard squares
Scissors or Paper Trimmer
Glue
Patterned Paper
Ribbon
Stickers or embellishments (optional)
Scoring Board (optional)
Instructions:
1. Select your 12 x 12 cardstock for your book base.
2. Using the scoreboard, score the cardstock every 3 inches both
vertically and horizontally. If not using a scoreboard, fold the 12
x 12 piece of paper in half, then half again to create the 3 inch
squares.
3. Following the illustration above, cut a line through three squares
on one line, then the other direction on the next line, followed
by the original direction on the third line.
4. After completing the cuts, accordion fold the paper in one long
strip.
5. Using two 3 x 3 cardboard squares, cover them with patterned
paper using your preferred adhesive.
6. Placing the ribbon strip on the covered cardboard square adhere
the cardstock strip sandwiched between the two covers.
7. Embellish the cover of your notebook as desired, and then tie
the ribbon to close the notebook.
