The Clay Marble – Final Project
DUE DATE: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27th
You have two options for your final project. Pick only ONE of the following options. The requirements
for each project type are included below. Read all three options before you decide. No changes can be
made to the project requirements. No projects will be accepted after the due date. Use your character chart
worksheet and novel to assist you.
Option One – Visual / Creative Presentation
For this project, you will choose one character. The product for this project will be a finished piece of
colored construction paper or cardstock. You will fold the paper into the shape of a folding poster board (1
big side, 2 little sides). Follow my demonstration in class. Use your notebook paper copy as your guide.
You will have four flaps labeled and completed with a drawing of your character, the character’s traits, a
symbol that is important for that character, and a timeline of the character’s trait changes. The inside flaps
will have explanations for each outside flap. The big space inside will be filled with a typed paragraph
written about your character. This paragraph should explain the changes that happen with your character
and why they are important to the story. It should be between 200 and 400 words and should fit in the
space provided. It must be typed in Times New Roman font.
Option Two – Essay / Written Presentation
For this project, you will choose two characters to compare and contrast their character traits. You will
write a five-paragraph essay about these characters in the novel. It must be in MLA format, Times New
Roman font, and 12-size type. The word count does not matter, but you should shoot for at least one page
in length (two page maximum). You need to include exact examples and quotes from the text. You must
print your paper and bring it in a hard copy to turn in to me for credit.
