Knoxville Catholic High School has provided an outstanding education to the communities we serve since opening our doors in 1932. KCHS students consistently score above the state and national averages on standardized tests, and the Class of 2011 was offered an outstanding $11 million college scholarships.

Our core academic curriculum is enhanced with religious, fine arts, and life skills courses that allow students to grow in mind, body, and spirit. Peer Ministry or Performing Arts…Fighting Irish Football or the Harry Potter Club…AP Physics or Digital Photography – every KCHS student is provided the opportunity to discover the full spectrum of their interests and talents.

Knoxville Catholic High School exists primarily for Catholic students. Students of any race, gender, creed, color, religion or national origin may apply and may be admitted as space permits.

Freshmen

Knoxville Catholic High School will provide application materials to any interested eighth grade student.

To be considered for admission, a completed application must be submitted by February 15 (or next business day if February 15 is a weekend or holiday) along with the $100 application fee. Other documents to be submitted are: State of Tennessee Immunization Record, unofficial copy of current transcript, any academic/psycho-educational testing results, completed course request form, and signed

Request for Records form. Two letters of recommendation, one from a current teacher and one personal recommendation are also required for non-feeder school applicants.

The High School Placement Test is used as the primary tool for course placement. Discipline and attendance records from the current school will be reviewed and will factor in the acceptance decision.

A placement recommendation form must be completed by the eighth grade teacher or counselor before course placement will be made. This form will be provided to each feeder school; non feeder school applicants must submit the form to their school for completion.

Late applications to the freshman class will be accepted as space permits. The late application fee is

$150.

No student will be admitted after a semester has been in session for two weeks and mid-year transfers from block scheduling school systems are not encouraged.

Upper Class Transfers (Sophomore, Junior, Senior)

Application materials will be provided for any upperclassman interested in continuing their secondary education at KCHS. To be considered for admission, a completed application must be submitted, along with a non-refundable $200 application fee. Other documents to be submitted are: State of Tennessee

Immunization Record, unofficial copy of current transcript, any academic/psycho-educational testing results, and a signed Request for Records form. A letter from a student’s current school indicating standing in academics, discipline, and attendance must accompany the application. Two letters of recommendation, one from a current teacher and one personal recommendation, are also required for transfer applicants.

All transfer students must have earned sufficient credits to enter Knoxville Catholic High School “on grade”.

Mid-year transfers from a block scheduling system are very difficult to accommodate and are not encouraged.

Transfer students are generally not accepted for the senior year but will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Transfer students will not be admitted after a semester has been in session for two weeks.

Tuition & Fees Page

Tuition rates for the 2012/2013 school year are listed below. Through the textbook rental program each student will receive the required textbooks and any associated workbooks. At the end of each course students will return those textbooks. Parents will be billed for any unreturned books at replacement cost.

The fees paid per student cover student activity fee, technology fee, yearbook, mandatory drug testing,

PE uniform, spirit week t-shirt, class dues, parent membership in the Irish Parent Network, course fees

(except Driver’s Ed), student planner, Bible (received freshman year) Catechism (received junior or senior year), annual retreat, and graduation fee (senior year).

Additional expenses that may be incurred include, but are not limited to, uniforms, lunches, parking, athletic participation fees and expenses, school supplies, and novels for English classes.

A $300.00 non-refundable deposit is required at time of contract signing (April) for all new students

(freshmen and transfer students). This amount will be applied to 2012/2013 tuition.

A second textbook may be rented for an additional $20 per available text.

Two payment options are available:

1. Full tuition payment due by July 1.

2. Monthly payment through FACTs Tuition Management Program. Payments are made over a ten month period (July through April) via automatic withdrawal.

Students are required to wear uniforms. Uniform pants, skirts, ties, and shirts must be purchased locally from Educational Outfitters or by mail order from Lands’ End.

*This amount may be reduced by the standard parish assessment and/or supplemental tuition assistance.
