Background:
Ministry of MSME , Government of India has established 18 Technology Centres (10 Tool
Rooms and 8 Technology Development Centres) to provide technological support to micro ,
small & medium enterprises in the country by way of design & development of tools ,
components , processes as well as skilled manpower in related sectors .
These Centres have been conducting various skill development programmes to meet the
skill development needs of the industries. The intake qualification for the trainees from
school dropout to B.Tech Engineers and they are serving the industries in the capacity
that ranges from skilled operators to middle level supervisor .
To offer the flexibility of undergoing training programmes to the participants as well as
to standardize the programmes across the country , the Tool Rooms have developed
different modules in various conventional programmes having qualification ranging from
school drop out to 12th standard . In order to make the modules more user friendly and
for their greater acceptability , it has been decided to translate these modules in to 10
regional languages.
Scope of Work for translation of modular course material into local language
Translation of following modular course material in 10 regional languages such as Telugu,
Tamil, Bangali, Marathi, Assamese , Hindi ,Punjabi , Gujrati , Odia and Kanada
Modular Course Material to be Translated from English to Local Language are as follows:
1. Basic Turning (289 pages)
2. Advance Turning(291 pages)
3. CNC Turning (378 pages)
4. Basic Milling ( 231 pages)
5. Advance Milling(237 pages)
6. CNC Milling (189 pages)
7. Basic Grinding (180 Pages)
8. Advance Grinding(132 pages)
9. Basic Injection Moulding(121 pages)
10. Advanced Injection Moulding(130 pages)
11. Basic Welding(328 pages)
12. Basic EDM/WEDM ( 342 pages)
Total No of Pages to be translated from English in to each of the 10 regional languages are:
2848 pages.



Total volume in words: 4.0 Lakhs approx.
New Words: 3.3 Lakhs approx
Repeat Words: 0.7 Lakhs approx
Scope of work , in addition to translating in 10 different regional languages as mentioned
above will also include the following :
1.Proof reading of the translated material .
2.Editing of the text material and enhancing in regional language to improve readability in the
vernacular language retaining the context of the original text .
3. Soft Copy of translated content in the Unicode format to be submitted for all the 12
modules .
4.Translation should be precise with simple flow of reader friendly plain language . Some
essential words/phrases are to be mentioned both in regional languages and English(within
bracket).For some difficult technical languages simple meaning to be mentioned in bracket.
5. CTTC can increase or decrease the scope of work (no of pages) by 25%. Payment will be
made as per actual words/pages in to regional languages .
