We here at Manufactured Fear have decided to take a brief respite from building your
nightmares to provide you or your business with a truly hair raising opportunity. We are proud to
present Parkersburg’s First Annual Zombie Walk free and open to the public at the Parkersburg
City Park on October 31st, 2015. Our event will be a step above in many ways, with our
partnership with the Save a Kitty, we will be the only event in the area holding a Pet Costume
Contest in conjunction with an Adopt-a-thon. The afternoon will be geared especially to the little
ghouls and ghosts in the neighborhood with our children’s events all afternoon and into the
evening, ending with a Children’s Costume Contest and Zombie Walk. After the children’s
events wrap up the evening will kick off with festivities for the adults, with a Zombie Walk and
Costume Contest just for them. Local rock bands who have partnered with such events as Outcry
for Rock, will be providing live music all through the event. In the Pavilion, we will be
partnering with a local Pro-Wrestling Organization to provide a special themed event in the
evening. We are currently seeking local craft and food vendors to make this an all-day event with
something for everyone. Our goal is to not only provide a safe, fun, community oriented event
but also to raise donations for Save a Kitty and the Boys and Girls Club.
As a company, Manufactured Fear has been in business since 2011, as an artist’s
conglomerate. Our founder Matthew Dodrill has been involved in numerous small business,
including being a board member in a successful real estate business in addition to being owner of
Manufactured Fear. He has been involved with several non-profits, community events, and youth
organizations. Together with his team of event organizers, they share a combined 15 years’
experience planning and organizing events.
After attending several zombie walks both local and national, we knew this was an event
that could potentially be a great success for the community of Parkersburg. For this walk we are
basing our event on both similarly sized cities zombie walks and other events in Parkersburg (i.e.
Multi-Cultural Festival, KidsFest). We are anticipating a crowd of 750 throughout the day of the
event. Which leads to some phenomenal advertising opportunities for your company, but leads to
some logistical costs which we are looking to offset using sponsors for the event allowing all of
the proceeds from the event to go directly to charity. Outlined below are a few of our larger
estimated costs, should you like to sponsor a cost individually or chose from one of our
sponsorship packages, you can be sure your money will be going to making this event great.
Liability Insurance is definitely not glamorous, but is necessary for our event to go on. Your
money goes to providing a state approved insurance policy that protects all of our workers, event
coordinators, partners, and the city of Parkersburg in the event of a liability. We will be insured
through (Currently getting quotes). The cost of this expense is approximately $700.
Even zombies if our zombies no longer need the facilities, their families and our event workers
still might. Under requirements from the Health Department, our estimated number of event
attendees we are required to provide 4 of portable toilets. At each unit costing an estimated $90,
we are hoping to either offset or have donated by one of the companies around Parkersburg.
In order to hold this event on public property, there is a significant cost associated with obtaining
the proper permits and paperwork to keep us in line with both state and local laws. We are in the
process of beginning to obtain all the necessary permits, your donation would directly cover all
of the necessary costs to permitting everything for our event.
One of our largest estimated draws to the event is our partnership with a local Pro-Wrestling
Organization who will be providing us with an estimated 300 seat ticket sale for their evening
show. With your donation would completely cover the cost the show, allowing for all the ticket
sales profits to go to your choice of our two charities. Your name would be included along with
select other sponsors on the check we present to the individual charity.
While all of our bands have graciously donated their time and talent to providing live music for
our event, they will still need a stage to perform on, sound equipment and lighting for in the
evening of the event. By either donation of equipment or money, you would provide us the
ability to have these bands perform and also have all of our contests mic’ed as well.
In addition to the above listed special cost sponsorship opportunities, we also have the following
tiered sponsorship levels.
